UNION Glashütte presents a new wristwatch in its 1893 line with an exclusive movement, innovative hand-wound calibre and an unconventional dial – UNION GLASHÜTTE 1893 manual winding. The first UNION timepieces were produced in Glashütte in 1893. The collection of the same name combines Glashütte watchmaking techniques that have been passed down for generations with state-of-the-art developments. A number of details, including blued hands, lacquered dials and railway track chapter rings, are reminiscent of the watches’ predecessors without appearing outdated at all.

The new timepiece stands out from the crowd thanks to its completely redesigned dial. The shimmering blue-grey face has been sandblasted. Set back from the centre is a white enamel ring, which has been finished with enamel lacquer unique to UNION. This creates an enchanting 3D effect.

The date is shown at 3 o’clock, the power reserve display is at 5 o’clock and a small second is present at 9 o’clock. Each hand has been blued in the fashion that is a hallmark of this timepiece range. A matching blue calfskin strap with crocodile skin effect and satin-finished lugs is reminiscent of classic pocket watches. However, this timepiece has a total diameter of just 41 mm.

Since its foundation more than 128 years ago, the Union Glashütte brand has dedicated itself to the production of fine watches, and its collections are a testament to Glashütte’s rich history of watchmaking. Right from the start, the businessman and founder of the company, Johannes Dürrstein, kept to the principle of making his high-quality, precision Glashütte watches affordable for a wider range of customers. This objective has remained the same throughout the eventful history of the company, but has continually found new ways of expression. It has never yet lost relevance.
