Reading Time: 2 minutes
An industry revolution? You can say that… Sevenfriday, when launched in 2012, started something, maybe not a revolution, but a big wave for sure. I’ve met Sevenfriday watches between non-collectors, low budget collectors and haute horlogerie collectors. It’s a watch you just love, it doesn’t matter if it’s your only watch or the cheapest for your collection. I own a Sevenfriday, and I love it. My wife loves it too, in fact, she was the one “to convince” me to buy it, in a moment where I thought that I am trying to convince her that I would like one someday… Yeap, that’s just it: love it or hate it, but it will not be indifferent to you.
The V- Series was launched in September 2015 and it is my favourite watch from Sevenfriday. First questions I hear: Is that a watch? How do you read time on that? An explanation comes and everyone is mindblown…
The secret for their success: an inexpensive Miyota 82S7 movement (which may be found in other interesting watches), a lot of imagination and quality.
The automatic calibre 82S7 it’s an 11 ½’’ movement with hours, minutes, small second at 4:30 o’clock and 24h subdial (in this case a day/night indicator) at 9 o’clock. It has 40h of power reserve, 21 jewels and beats with 21600 vph.
The dial uses a 120° hour indicator on 0–4 scales with turning central disc displaying 0+, 4+, 8+ hours, a central minutes hand, a white disc using additional principle displaying 0+ 20+ 40+ seconds and a day/night indication disc at 9 o’clock. For crystal is used a hardened domed mineral glass.
The case is stainless steel with sunray brushed top bezel and has a height of 44.3mm, weight of 49.7mm and 11.3mm thickness. This case features a strap with a fast release system and it has 3atm water resistance. The shape of the case and crown is original and despite the large size, it doesn’t look ridiculous on the wrist.
My only complaint is the movement view: the calibre itself doesn’t have the nice decoration of the case, but at this price, I can live with it. The watch comes with a beautiful black imprinted soft matte calfskin leather strap with black stitching.
The Sevenfriday V1/01 and V2/01 cost 1250 Euro and the V3/01 cost 1399 Euro at the Official Webshop and the watches can be seen and bought at one of the Official Retailers.
I would like to thank Sevenfriday for the information, images and video.
