I can say that this year, at BaselWorld 2017, I found My Way, my guilty pleasure. If you ask me, I am an Haute Horlogerie guy, a complication lover and horological finishes obsessed person, but encountering these watches was something magical.
It was late when I saw these fluffy beauties in the window at Fendi, running to the next event and passed over the closing time. I stopped and asked for more information, I just couldn’t go without taking a better look at this expression of the Fendi DNA.
The Fendy My Way Sapphire Limited edition is a celebration of femininity and elegance. And in my opinion, this brand with 30 years of luxury timepieces history and experience has made a perfect mix of Italian taste and Swiss craftmanship.
This blue, curvy timepiece comes in a 36mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal on top and 50m water resistance. The bezel is set with 72 marquise and round shaped blue sapphires placed in a symmetric blue shades order. The darker sapphires correspond to the three diamonds placed as indexes at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock and to the Fendi signature placed at 12 o’clock. The blueish mother of pearl dial is decorated with a ring of diamonds. Two baton-shaped hands are used for the hour and minutes.
The approximate 0.24 carat worth of diamonds and the 3.37 carats sapphires are accompanied by a dark blue Glamy in Arctic fox fur crafted by the FENDI Fur Atelier, especially for these watches. Together with the blue satin look leather strap, this watch is a killer queen.
Powering this watch is a Swiss made quartz movement featuring hours and minutes. A Fendi logo pin buckle in stainless steel is used to complete this look.
The second sophistication comes in pink. I can not think of a feminine collection without a warm and pastel colour – it was somehow implicitly.
This version comes in the same case type with single lugs und custom pink satin look leather strap. The bezel is set with pink sapphires in the same marquise and round cut and can be accessorised with a removable light pink Glamy Arctic fox fur.
Even if the watches are stated as water resist, I would recommend removing the furry accessories before getting wet with this watch – from my experience is hard to regain the original beauty of this kind of fur.

These watches are my favourite watches from BaseWorld 2017 and this time is the only time when I will admit that.
