Seiko Watch Corporation is pleased to announce Grand Seiko’s sponsorship of teamLab’s art exhibition, “teamLab: A Forest Where Gods Live, Ruins and Heritage – THE NATURE OF TIME”, which takes place between July 25th and November 4th in Takeo Hot Springs, Kyushu, Japan.
Since 2015, teamLab has been holding exhibitions at Mifuneyama Rakuen, a 500,000 square-meter garden created in 1845 during the end of the Edo period. Through the use of digital technology, the collective has explored how “nature itself becomes art”, and until today, these exhibitions have taken place only at night. Held for the first time this year, the daytime exhibition “teamLab: A Forest Where Gods Live, Ruins and Heritage – THE NATURE OF TIME” allows visitors to experience four works by teamLab, together with a stroll through heritage sites and ruins found throughout the garden.
Through the concept of “THE NATURE OF TIME”, Grand Seiko communicates the unique way Japan has perceived time. In line with this concept, Grand Seiko is pleased to support this project in which teamLab, a leader in the world art scene, explores the concept of an “endless continuity of time” through art.
