To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall which led to the reunification of Germany, Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet has produced two limited editions of the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph “Pride of Germany.”
The design of the Royal Oak Offshore collection lends the strength and character of its line to the exclusive Royal Oak Offshore Pride of Germany models. These two 44 mm watches combine black ceramic and 18-carat pink gold in an elegant nod to the German flag.
One of the models, limited to 300 pieces, presents a black ceramic case and bezel subtly illuminated by 18-carat pink gold links as well as a titanium sapphire caseback. The second model, limited to 30 pieces, features a black ceramic bezel and an 18-carat pink gold case for a powerful contrast. Both watches have been hand-finished with alternating satin brushing and polished bevels in the highest respect of Audemars Piguet’s traditions.
Both watches are endowed with a slate grey “Méga Tapisserie” patterned dial, which recalls the Berlin Wall that divided East and West Germany for many years. Both dials featuring black and rhodium-toned chronograph counters are delicately enhanced by 18-carat pink gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands.
The two models are equipped with a dedicated oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire caseback, which shows a representation of Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. Both casebacks are engraved with the special inscription “PRIDE OF GERMANY.”
The two Royal Oak Offshore Pride of Germany models are part of a special series of very limited editions celebrating nations. This special series perfectly embodies the Royal Oak Offshore’s loyalty to Audemars Piguet’s origins and openness to the world.
The two limited editions are now available in Audemars Piguet boutiques in Germany, in Munich’s AP House and at selected jewellers (Juwelier Rüschenbeck, Bucherer, Oeding-Erdel Münster).
