Today, the woman is celebrated! And what is the most precious gift a man can offer to his daughter, wife/girlfriend, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and so on, if not diamonds? But also a woman can celebrate her life’s significant woman/women. Or herself… And we all know that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. So, for this Sunday I have selected five pieces that are not yet reviewed on Watch I Love Magazine. The criteria? – Fabulous diamond watches from last year: Louis Cartier Regard de Panthère, Parmigiani Tonda 1950 Lune, Sapphire Orbe, Rendez-Vous Celestial ‘Northern Lights’, Piaget Gala Malachite.
Cartier Ronde Louis Cartier Regard de Panthère
Launched at SIHH 2019, the Regard de Panthère is an exceptional exercise of the Maison des Métiers d’Art. Leaving aside for the moment those 133 diamonds (in a total of 1.81 cts), the dial of this lady’s piece is a gorgeous representation of the magnificent feline. Cartier has a long history of panther representations. Jewellery for women and men, bags, eyewear, writing instruments and other accessories bear the panther as the main motif.
The Cartier Ronde Louis Cartier Regard de Panthère is cased in a 36mm yellow gold case with a gold beaded crown. The dial features a painted panther motif with SuperLuminova eyes on a background of chequered mother-of-pearl marquetry. The watch is powered by a lovely decorated automatic winding movement, the Calibre 1847C.
Parmigiani Tonda 1950 Lune
Tonda 1950 Lune spoil the ladies collector with a diamond-set case of its Tonda 1950 Lune. Lunched for the first time three years ago, the Parmigiani Tonda 1950 Lune adorns beautiful mechanics with a precious case and delicate dial. The watch targets the practical side of the woman – a date and moon phase are displayed in an asymmetrical manner along with large small seconds subdial.
The 39mm rose gold case bears 1.82 cts setting. The brand’s specific Tonda case not only looks good but offers precious surroundings for the white mother-of-pearl dial. The skeleton, delta-shaped hand-polished hands completes the Parmigiani’s signature appearance. The lady collector will be well pleased by the calibre PF708 since the brand takes the movement decoration very seriously.
Audemars Piguet Sapphire Orbe
During SIHH 2019, Audemars launched a jaw-dropping piece, the Audemars Piguet Sapphire Orbe. The imagination and creativity pushed the limits of the gem-setting craftsmanship. The watch is inspired by the river that crosses Le Brassus, home of Audemars Piguet and its sparks created by the night merging into the day.
More than 12,000 stones were used to create one of the most spectacular haute joaillerie. Twenty different stones sizes, six shades of blue and orange sapphires and white diamonds totalised 66.10 cts. This jewellery tells the time using white gold hands on an 8-carat white gold dial paved with graded orange sapphires fixed on a 2 cm dark blue sapphire set globe.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Celestial ‘Northern Lights’
On the occasion of 76th Venice International Film Festival – La Biennale di Venezia, Jaeger-LeCoultre presented a magnificent new interpretation of its alluring Rendez-Vous Celestial. Launched in 2012, the Rendez-Vous collection represents high-complication watches created specifically for women. The ‘Northern Lights’ reproduce constellations of the northern hemisphere and its ethereal patterns of the Aurora Borealis.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Celestial ‘Northern Lights’ comes in a 37.5 mm pink gold case. The watch is adorned with 19 diamonds (0.26 cts) and 118 sapphires (3.09 cts) spread over the case band, lugs and bezel. The lady collector will find joy not only on the spectacular appearance but also on the mechanical side. The hours/minutes, sky chart, rendez-vous indications are powered by the sublime decorated self-winding Calibre 809/1.
Piaget Gala Malachite
It is natural to think about Piaget when talking about ladies watches, diamonds and long traditions in pleasing women with diamond masterpieces, regardless of jewellery or timepieces. Piaget Gala is one of the brand’s most successful and iconic designs. Presented at SIHH 2019 in a “Décor Palace” finish with a malachite dial, the Limelight Gala watch continues a sixty design.
Piaget Gala asymmetric design takes the form in a complete 18 k pink gold watch with an integrated bracelet adorned with “palace” decoration. The openwork style of gem-setting holds 42 brilliant-cut diamonds with a total of 4.74 cts. The green malachite dial with gold baton hands contrasts with the case in a bold appearance. For this piece, Piaget uses the manufacture 690P Quartz movement.
