Li Bingbing has made a name for herself as an actress both in Asia and in Hollywood. What’s more, she has been serving as a global Brand Ambassador for Carl F. Bucherer and its values since 2016.

Now the Swiss watchmaker has teamed up with the movie star to create a collection that highlights another aspect of her character: her charitable activities. Li Bingbing has been working with international organizations to support good causes – fighting poverty, protecting endangered species, and advocating for the environment – since 2003. This led her to start the L.O.V.E. Responsible Life foundation, which acts as an umbrella organization for her numerous charitable projects, in 2009. The Manero AutoDate LOVE takes its name from the foundation and features its emblem on the dial: a leaf that symbolizes environmental protection and a plea for more humane values. The motif is delicately integrated into the small-seconds subdial and lends each timepiece a unique grace. “The delicate pattern should remind us to treat the earth and all its creatures with respect and to honour them – and that we should preserve and pass on the beauty of nature to future generations,” Li Bingbing says.

From bold and expressive to elegant and subdued, each of the nine different models in this collection cuts an ultra-feminine figure on the wrist.
Three of the timepieces feature vibrant red dials adorned with a fine sprinkling of gold dust – an unusual finishing that gives a warm, luxurious glow, reflecting the light with every movement. The magnificent dial is framed either by a case in fine rose gold or, in the case of the refined two-tone version, by a case in stainless steel and 18-karat rose gold. The models are harmoniously complemented by a red Louisiana alligator leather strap or a stainless-steel rose gold bracelet. The crowning piece among this trio features a solid rose gold case and a bezel encrusted with 62 diamonds. Vibrant red combines with the lustre of gold and brightly sparkling accents in a fabulously luxurious and infinitely feminine timepiece.
The three LOVE models with a petrol blue dial strike a completely different tone with their combination of warm and cool hues: powerful, fascinating, and mystical. This trio comes in a choice of a two-tone case or a case in pure stainless steel. The intense colour of the dials is a true head turner and is complemented by an alligator leather strap in a matching colour. The final three pieces in the collection hit a timeless and elegant note with their white mother-of-pearl dials, stainless-steel cases, and choice of a purple alligator-leather strap or sporty steel bracelet. One member of the trio is even adorned with 62 diamonds.
All nine models feature a feminine and contemporary 35.5-millimetre case diameter along with a delicate leaf motif adorning the small-seconds subdial.
The Beating Swiss Heart Within
These elegant ladies’ timepieces are powered by the CFB 1971 caliber for the ultimate in precision. This automatic movement features a power reserve of 42 hours and acts as a reliable engine for the hour, minute, and the small seconds at 6 o’clock, as well as the date display at 3 o’clock. The sapphire crystal case back allows the wearer to admire the fine finishing and precise motions of the movement within.
L.O.V.E. for Values
International movie star Li Bingbing founded L.O.V.E. Responsible Life in 2009. The foundation supports various charitable projects and campaigns for people to adopt an environmentally responsible lifestyle.
