When it comes to sports watches, the Longines HYDROCONQUEST line is in a class of its own. It is now being expanded to include new models with a clean design and an exclusive Longines GMT movement.
The new variant combines technical excellence with pure elegance, two characteristic features of the brand with the winged hourglass. The new models are inspired by the world of water sports while building on Longines’ historical expertise in the development of multi-time zone watches.
The Longines brand is expanding its HydroConquest line with new variants featuring a GMT complication — a first for this popular collection, launched in 2007.
This function makes it possible to display the time in two time zones at the same time. It is a complication that is closely linked to the great history of the brand: Longines first integrated this complication into a wristwatch in 1925.
The Longines HydroConquest GMT combines this feature, which is particularly useful for travellers, with the codes of water sports that define it. It is aimed at modern adventurers who like to break new ground, as well as demanding athletes who will accompany them everywhere.
For this new generation of watches, Longines has combined retro design with contemporary cutting-edge technology. The stainless steel case with a diameter of 41 mm and the screwed back has been redesigned. It houses the new GMT calibre, exclusive to Longines, equipped with a silicon hairspring and innovative components made of non-magnetic materials. The movement offers a magnetic field resistance that exceeds the ISO 764 standard by a factor of ten. It is also highly precise and offers a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
In addition, the HydroConquest GMT is characterized by a new, unidirectional rotating and toothed ceramic bezel with luminous markings and a screw-down crown.
The alternating polished and satin finishes give rhythm and sophistication to the new models. The green, brown, black or blue sunburst dials are enhanced by a two-tone 24-hour scale. The gold-plated or rhodium-plated hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova® for optimal readability in all circumstances. Round indexes at 6 and 9 o’clock and a triangular index at 12 o’clock are complemented by a date window at 3 o’clock. The arrow-shaped GMT hand picks up the colour of the dial markers.
The Longines HydroConquest GMT models are water resistant to 30 bar. They are presented on a stainless steel bracelet whose H-shaped links have been completely redesigned. In addition, for the first time at Longines, it is equipped with a clasp with fine adjustment.
The new models are also available with blue or black rubber straps, colour-coordinated with the dials. They are also equipped with a folding clasp with fine adjustment to ensure a perfect fit and comfort. A NATO strap is also available in khaki green or beige.
