After its launch at the beginning of the year, the TYPE 1 Round takes on a refreshing twist this Autumn, expanding the colour territory of Ressence with the polychromatic dial of the TYPE 1° M.
Ressence adds strokes of colour to the canvas of time with this new multicolour addition to the TYPE 1 Round collection, promising to infuse each day with a burst of energy.
Embracing graphic playfulness while maintaining Ressence‘s signature sleek design, this watch is crafted for the discerning spirit.
The contrasting, yet complementary, red, blue, yellow and green featured on the Hour, Minute, Second and Weekday discs of the TYPE 1° M bring soft essential hues to the light grey dial and elegant multicoloured magic to the watch owner’s wrist.
The gentle primary colours are well paired with the rounded and tactile design of the case, establishing a harmonious connection between form, colour, and material and ultimately elevating the visual experience.
“With the TYPE 1° Round Multicolour, we further pursue our exploration in the realm of colours” said Benoît Mintiens, Founder of Ressence. “This watch embodies the principle of a functional colour palette, combining soft hues to create a visually pleasing and practical timepiece. I have long wanted to bring a colourful watch to the core collection. With this new piece owners are sure to make a strong and distinctive impression.”
Refined dial design
Beyond the discs’ colours, the numbers and indexes on the dial feature white paint while the hands are grey with coloured tip. All engraved indications are also filled with 100% grade A Super-LumiNova®.
ROCS
The TYPE 1° M is more than just a pretty face. It also boasts Ressence‘s cutting-edge ROCS 1.3 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module, driven by the minute axle of a customised 2892 base calibre, featuring revolving discs that display time in a bi-dimensional layout.
Intuitive simplicity
As with all Ressence watches, when setting the time, the timepiece is simultaneously being wound. This is as intuitive as moving the hands on an old wall clock. The absence of a crown makes the watch comfortable for both left or right fit.
The TYPE 1° M will be available worldwide from Winter 2023 via Ressence’s official retailer’s network.

ABOUT RESSENCE
Founded in 2010 by industrial designer Benoît Mintiens, Ressence aims to redefine the essence of 21st Century watches. The brand’s philosophy follows the “Less is More” principle, by removing all unnecessary attributes that traditional watches have been revisiting for decades. Behind its minimalistic design, Ressence’s true purpose is to provoke wonder, to awaken senses and to make mechanical watches daily companions for today’s and tomorrow’s generations.
Benoît Mintiens started by introducing the ZERO SERIES, a completely new dial design concept in which time is represented on flush two-dimensional rotating discs. Traditional hands have been removed. Time is displayed like words on paper. This design simplification continued with the TYPE 1, which eliminated the crown, resulting in a truly left-right watch. The award-winning TYPE 3 further pushed boundaries by filling the watch with oil, eliminating refraction from the glass, and reinforcing the twodimensional aspect. Finally, the groundbreaking TYPE 2 introduced the world’s first automatic selfsetting crown, removing the need for manual adjustments.
Recognised with the 2013 Horological Revelation Award at the esteemed Grand Prix d’Horlogerie, Ressence stands out with its distinctive approach to the craft of contemporary Fine Watchmaking. By combining Swiss-made calibers with self-engineered innovations, Ressence reimagines how mechanical watches can function and interact with their owners in the modern age.
