Gentlemen, start your engines! It’s time again for the ADAC Deutschland Klassik, and this year the rally is heading north – to Bremerhaven to be exact. Over the three days of the rally, from 22nd to 25th May, those taking part will experience one of Germany’s most beautiful regions, boasting pristine white beaches, impressive lighthouses, unspoiled coastline, dykes and the glistening sea. Union Glashütte is partnering with the rally and has once again come up with something creative for the limited-edition timepiece in honour of the occasion – the Noramis Date Limited Edition Deutschland Klassik 2024 showcases a striking design which will not only appeal to vintage car lovers: The dial is inspired by the iconic multi-spoke wheel rim. The applied chrome wheel rim elements stand out from the black dial, polished to a high-gloss finish, while the design is reminiscent of Middle Eastern patterns. Limited to only 200 pieces, this will be a must-have item.
The sophisticated wheel rim details of this timepiece emphasise, once again, the close collaboration between Union Glashütte and the classic car rally racers. Full of finesse, the dial not only presents the multi-spoke wheel rim in exquisite detail, but also lends it a three-dimensional feel thanks to the addition of wheel nuts and the design which tapers outward. The black-inset date positioned at 3 o’clock is seamlessly integrated into the design.
The timepiece measures 40 mm overall, with its height of just over 10 mm making it a perfect fit for any wrist. For optimum readability, the tips of the retro indices, which are a hallmark of the Noramis range, are white – the Super-LumiNova® coating has a green tinge. The rounded sapphire crystal, with its delicate bezel, further emphasises the nostalgic feel of the watch. The “Union Glashütte” inscription is printed on the sapphire crystal from below, further enhancing the dial’s multi-dimensional look.
The watch is available with a black calfskin strap featuring contrast stitching, which is reminiscent of the stitched seats of sports cars. At the heart of the watch, the technical marvel that is the UNG-07.S1 mechanical movement, with a silicon balance spring and a power reserve of at least 60 hours, keeps the timepiece running. As an alternative to the glass case back, an additional steel case back can be fitted, which is engraved with a map of Germany – including Bremerhaven.
The Union Glashütte Noramis Date Deutschland Klassik 2024 edition will be available from selected specialist outlets for €2780.00 (recommended retail price).
