Last year, Schwarz Etienne released the GEOMETRY, a model conceived by acclaimed designer, Eric Giroud. With its dial divided into quadrants and enriched with an array of finishes, the GEOMETRY shifted perceptions of time. Now, buoyed by the success of the inaugural versions of the GEOMETRY, Schwarz Etienne unites geometric patterns with vibrant cherry hues with the release of the GEOMETRY CHERRY, a watch that delivers a cheery prelude to summer. The GEOMETRY CHERRY features the familiar, tried and tested Manufacture automatic movement, the calibre ASE 200.02, incorporating a micro-rotor.

In 2023, Schwarz Etienne unveiled the GEOMETRY, a model masterminded by acclaimed designer, Eric Giroud. At first glance, the dial appears orderly with its array of finishes, including fluted lines, azuré, clous de Paris and fine sandblasted sections. However, closer examination reveals the path of the numerous arcs and ridges are displaced or skewed. Is there a hidden meaning? Only Eric Giroud knows what he meant when he originally applied his Rotring pen to paper. However, irrespective of the dial’s meaning, one thing is certain, the GEOMETRY is captivating to behold.

Buoyed by the success of the inaugural GEOMETRY references of 2023, Schwarz Etienne is pleased to unveil a new variant of the watch featuring an ebullient cherry-toned dial. From mid-May, market stalls across Switzerland will tempt shoppers with fresh succulent cherries. Brightly hued and sweet-tasting, cherries provide a cheery prelude to the summer and inspiration for this latest creation.

Lancine-style hour and minute hands float above a tapestry of intricately textured motifs, applied using hand-guilloché. A small seconds display, again featuring a lancine-style hand, is positioned at 6 o’clock. The dial is formed of gold, standing testament to its no-compromise creation. The watch is presented on a black leather strap, lined with brown leather and fitted with a stainless steel folding buckle.

The GEOMETRY CHERRY is presented in a polished stainless steel case measuring 39mm in diameter. An exhibition case back grants sight of the Manufacture automatic movement, the calibre ASE 200.02, equipped with a micro-rotor that provides the convenience of automatic winding while remaining slender. As the micro-rotor sits flush with neighbouring bridges, it also bestows unimpeded views of the beautifully finished movement components. The main plate is executed in grey brass with a fine sandblasted finish, while the ratchet wheel is embellished with diamond drops and snailing. The bridges, again featuring a fine sandblasted finish, are dressed in grey PVD and incorporate rhodium-plated angles and tone-on-tone engraving. Consistent with fine watchmaking, the wheels are circular grained. Assuming the mainspring is fully tensioned, the GEOMETRY will run autonomously for 86 hours.

Since it was founded in 1902, Schwarz Etienne has repeatedly conceived highly original timepieces imbued with technical virtue; the GEOMETRY CHERRY proves no exception.
