The 30 personalities from the world of watchmaking and the arts composing the 2025 Jury will meet behind closed doors under the leadership of their President, a few days before the awards ceremony. Their task will be to physically evaluate the 90 timepieces nominated by the Academy and determine the year’s winners, by secret ballot and under notarial supervision.

Historian, author and journalist / United Kingdom

« Looking at the list of watches in competition this year it is hard not to feel a sense of pride at being associated with such a resilient, resourceful and inspiring industry. The immense diversity of timekeepers selected by the Academy to be scrutinised by the members of our illustrious Jury demonstrates the huge scope for expressions of individuality in watch and clockmaking. I am often asked, whether, after so many decades, I get bored of looking at watches. In answer I challenge anyone to look at this years selection and not be moved» Nick Foulkes, President of the Jury

Half the Jury members are chosen by the Jury President, while the other half are selected by draw from within the Academy. Comprising more than 1,050 key players from the main sectors of the watch industry, the entire Academy also takes part in selecting the winners via a digital vote, which accounts for one-third of the final result.

Divided into 15 categories, the 90 nominated timepieces are in the running to win 20 prizes, including the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, which will be awarded on Thursday 13 November in Geneva during the 25th GPHG awards ceremony, broadcast live on gphg.org at 6pm CET.

About the GPHG Academy
Created in 2020, the Academy is composed of several hundred members, significant stakeholders in the main sectors of the watchmaking industry, divided into colleges and forming a vast worldwide network of ambassadors. Academy members take part in the various stages of the timepiece selection process, proposing models for the competition in the spring of each year, before shortlisting nominations among the timepieces entered in the competition by the brands in the summer, and then taking part in the final autumn vote to establish the prize list alongside the Jury.
