HYT unveils S1 Seddiqi 75th anniversary three unique pieces

Reading Time: 3 minutes

HYT’s S1 Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Bespoke Edition arrives as a focused trilogy of one-of-one hydromechanical pieces in Titanium Green, Titanium Blue and Titanium Sand, created with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons to mark the retailer’s 75 years and distinguished by Indian numerals, commemorative detailing and a black-fluid retrograde hours display in a borosilicate capillary driven by calibre 501-CM. Each reference pairs a distinct case treatment and dial execution with HYT’s signature fluidic architecture, a 72-hour manually wound movement and a compact-yet-substantial 45.30 × 17.20 mm profile engineered for daily comfort and stability on the wrist.

The S1 Seddiqi Bespoke Edition is presented in three unique pieces, each numbered 1 of 1 and exclusively available through Ahmed Seddiqi, with launch scheduled for October 2025, underscoring a collaborative exercise that blends HYT’s fluidic display expertise with regional design codes including Indian numerals and special “75” anniversary cues across the series. The S1 Seddiqi Titanium Green (H03475-A) and S1 Seddiqi Titanium Blue (H03474-A) are priced at CHF 66,000 before taxes, while the S1 Seddiqi Titanium Sand (H03476-A) is listed at CHF 64,000 before taxes, reflecting differentiated case executions within a common technical platform.

Dials and display

All three dials are conceived around HYT’s retrograde fluidic hours, where a black liquid advances through a 0.8 mm inner-diameter borosilicate glass capillary and the meniscus serves as the hour indicator before a mechanical return to zero at the cycle’s end, with a central minutes hand, a small seconds and a power reserve completing a legible instrument-style readout. The capillary sits over a black-coated brass “capillary dial” ring treated with SLN C1/WL (or beige GL on the Sand version) for night-time orientation, while hands are executed in black or satin/polished finishes with white SLN on Green/Blue and beige GL on Sand to match the broader chromatic language of each piece.

The S1 Seddiqi Titanium Green adopts black-coated brass for the hours track with green appliqués and a green-coated brass minutes scale with white and red decals, tying the highland green case tone to the functional dial furniture in a crisp, high-contrast layout calibrated for clarity under the domed sapphire. The S1 Seddiqi Titanium Blue inverses the palette with blue-coated brass for the hours and black-coated brass for the minutes with white and red decals, producing a cool technical tableau that keeps the black fluid line and the central minutes decisive at a glance. The S1 Seddiqi Titanium Sand uses sand-coated brass for both hours and minutes, with brown appliqués and sand/red minutes decals, while the luminous specification shifts to beige, imparting a cohesive, desert-inspired signature that remains consistent with the family’s Indian numeral set and fluidic readout.

Movement

Calibre 501-CM is a manually wound, 41‑jewel, 4 Hz movement comprising 352 components with a 72‑hour power reserve, developed to deliver stable torque to the fluid module while maintaining conventional high-frequency chronometry for the hands and indications. The architecture couples a mechanical gear train to twin bellows at 6 o’clock. It derived from aerospace applications and fabricated with ultra-thin walls, whose actuation advances two immiscible liquids inside the capillary. The meniscus marking elapsed hours and a thermal compensator managing volumetric changes for precision across temperature variations.

In finishing terms, the calibre is finely sand-blasted and satin-finished with black and silver coating treatments depending on the variant’s specification sheet, aligning the movement’s visual character with the instrument-like exterior without resorting to superfluous ornament. HYT’s fluidic system is protected by seven patents and was recognised with the GPHG Innovation Prize in 2012, a lineage that this S1 iteration evolves through refined energy management, a clear indication stack and robust serviceability considerations appropriate to an avant-garde daily wearer.

Case and ergonomics

Dimensions are set at 45.30 mm in width, 46.30 mm in length and 17.20 mm in thickness, with ergonomics enhanced by angled strap integration that stabilises the watch on the wrist and a quick-change system delivering straightforward interchangeability between supplied straps. Water-resistance is 50 metres, and all models employ a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, while crowns are black-coated titanium engraved “7S,” a subtle nod to the 75th milestone and the collaboration’s bespoke status.

Material execution distinguishes the trio: the Titanium Green uses a highland green ceramic-coated titanium case, the Titanium Blue adopts a polar blue ceramic-coated titanium case, and the Titanium Sand opts for natural and black-coated beadblasted titanium, each reinforcing its dial palette and overall identity without compromising the shared HYT S1 chassis. The Green and Blue pieces are delivered with a pure black Velcro strap and a pure black rubber strap, both secured by black DLC titanium pin and loop buckles, while the Sand edition pairs a sand Velcro strap with a pure black rubber strap and titanium hardware, mirroring the model’s two-tone metalwork.

Ending and conclusion

The S1 Seddiqi Bespoke Edition reads as a confident consolidation of HYT’s fluidic language: the retrograde black-liquid hours, the high-frequency manual calibre with thermal compensation and aerospace-derived bellows, and the pragmatic 72-hour reserve coalesce into a coherent, purpose-built machine with distinct regional accents through Indian numerals and colour narratives tied to Dubai’s heritage and outlook. Limitation to three unique pieces, the discrete “1 of 1” caseback engraving and exclusive Ahmed Seddiqi availability position the watches squarely as curated objects, with pricing aligned to the elevated casework and bespoke detailing that frame the patented hydromechanical core.
