Bremont transforms its unexpected jumping hour success into something altogether darker and tactical with the Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour Stealth Black. This release follows the sold-out cupro-aluminium bronze edition from April 2025 and the steel version from October, positioning the brand’s field watch complication in full-black tactical dress. The British manufacturer coats the entire 904L stainless steel case and bracelet in diamond-like carbon, creating a monochrome tool watch that balances vintage-inspired mechanics with contemporary aggression.

The guichet dial architecture
Bremont adopts the montres à guichet design, a format that traces its lineage to early 20th-century trench watches. The dial presents three vertical apertures against a brushed black surface: an hour window at 12 o’clock displaying white numerals on a lumed disc, a minute window at 6 o’clock with matching treatment, and a central running seconds display featuring the brand’s Wayfinder compass logo in full Super-LumiNova with green emission. Three individual sapphire crystals protect each aperture. The white-on-black contrast delivers exceptional legibility, amplifying the watch’s utilitarian character whilst the closed architecture eliminates any visual complexity. This execution strips away decorative elements, focusing entirely on time display functionality.

The BC634 Calibre
Bremont developed the BC634 exclusively with Sellita, basing the movement on the SW300 automatic platform fitted with a proprietary jumping hour module. The calibre incorporates a Glucydur balance wheel, Anachron balance spring, and Nivaflex mainspring, beating at 28,800 vph (4Hz) with a 56-hour power reserve spread across 29 jewels. The high-torque configuration ensures the hour disc jumps instantaneously in under one-tenth of a second, a technical requirement for the jumping complication to function properly without visual stutter. The closed caseback prevents view of the movement but displays a world map motif and the London hallmark engraving. Bremont positions the BC634 as a robust mechanical solution that prioritises reliability and precision over decorative finishing.

Comfort on the wrist
The 38mm cushion-shaped case measures 44mm in length and stands just 9.1mm tall, creating a low profile on the wrist. Bremont machines the case from 904L stainless steel, a marine-grade alloy offering superior corrosion resistance compared to standard 316L, then applies full black DLC coating to both case and bracelet. The coating enhances scratch resistance whilst reinforcing the tactical aesthetic. The shortened lugs and 20mm width maintain proportion, drawing design cues from early military pocket watches adapted for wrist wear. The push-in crown lacks guards, keeping the profile clean. Water resistance rates at just 3 ATM (30 metres), a limitation for a field watch category typically associated with robust environmental protection. The DLC-coated bracelet features polished and brushed surfaces with a deployment clasp and quick-release system.
A Stealth Companion
Bremont offers a second strap option: a black leather bund strap that references WWII pilot equipment designed to protect wrists from extreme temperatures. The wider protective section can be removed to reveal a traditional black calf leather strap beneath, providing versatility. The quick-release system allows tool-free changes. This addition reinforces the collection’s historical references whilst expanding wearing options. The Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour Stealth Black retails for €5,900 on the DLC bracelet and €5,450 on the leather bund strap. Bremont positions this release as a statement piece within its field watch line, combining the unexpected jumping hour complication with tactical aesthetics. The brand demonstrates that complications traditionally associated with dress watches can inhabit tool watch contexts, provided the execution prioritises legibility and durability over decorative restraint.
