IWC and George Russell present a focused pair of Pilot’s Watches that feel genuinely personal. The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One driver brought his signature blue into the project, together with his racing number 63. IWC continues its long collaboration with the team and channels Russell’s sharp, controlled race craft into two compact ceramic instruments.
The colour blue defines both watches. Russell uses this hue on his helmet and personal branding, and IWC translates it directly to the dials and straps. The result respects the classic Pilot’s Watch vocabulary yet speaks clearly about this specific driver, not about generic motorsport.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell, reference IW389411, sits at 41.9 mm in diameter and 15.5 mm in height. IWC machines the case from black zirconium oxide ceramic, a material the brand knows very well. The crown and pushers use Ceratanium, which combines titanium’s low weight with ceramic-like surface hardness. A titanium case back protects the movement and carries an engraving of Russell’s number 63.

The black dial stays pure Pilot, with clear Arabic numerals and bold hands. Printing, luminous material and strap all take Russell’s blue, which pops against the matte black background. Blue Super-LumiNova fills the hands and hour markers, so legibility in low light remains a priority. The triple-register chronograph layout adds day and date at three o’clock, so the watch keeps real daily-usage utility.

Inside, IWC fits its manufacture calibre 69380. The movement runs at 4 Hz and delivers a 46 hour power reserve. A column wheel governs the chronograph, and a soft-iron inner cage protects the calibre against magnetism. The watch offers 10 bar water resistance and uses a screw down crown, so it suits regular, active wear. A blue rubber strap with Ceratanium pin buckle and the EasX-CHANGE system encourages strap experimentation without tools. IWC limits the chronograph to 1,063 pieces and prices it at about €12,900 in Europe.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell
The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell, reference IW328107, provides a cleaner, three-hand alternative. The 41 mm ceramic case measures 11.4 mm in thickness, which gives a comfortable, low profile on the wrist. IWC again chooses a Ceratanium crown and a titanium back with the engraved 63, keeping the materials story coherent across both watches.

The dial mirrors the chronograph’s layout language, just without the registers. George Russell blue appears on the numerals, minute track and luminous material. Black hands keep reflections controlled under the convex sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-reflective coating. The date window at three o’clock integrates neatly without disturbing the strong symmetry.

Power comes from IWC’s calibre 32112. This automatic movement uses a double pawl winding system and offers a generous 120 hour power reserve. Frequency stays at 4 Hz, and the brand again protects the movement with a soft-iron inner case. Water resistance matches the chronograph at 10 bar. The same blue rubber strap with EasX-CHANGE and Ceratanium pin buckle completes the package. IWC produces 1,063 pieces of the automatic and sets the price around €9,200 in euros.

Extending the IWC Universe
These George Russell editions sit comfortably within IWC’s broader Pilot’s Watch universe. The company draws on decades of ceramic and titanium experience, and it does not compromise on functional details like magnetic shielding and pressure-secured crystals. At the same time, the use of Russell’s personal blue and racing number quietly connects the watches to a specific human story.

For collectors, the pair offers a clear choice. The chronograph speaks to those who want a busier dial and a technical complication. The automatic suits enthusiasts who prefer a slimmer, time-and-date pilot with extended autonomy. Both references show IWC’s current direction: engineered cases, in-house calibres, and collaborations that feel informed rather than decorative.
