The Reine de Naples collection welcomes two exceptional references, the 9935 and 8925, unveiled to celebrate Breguet’s 250th anniversary. Both models revisit the Maison’s historic link to feminine timekeeping, born in the early 19th century with Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples. These contemporary creations preserve that lineage through graceful proportions, refined decoration and intricate horological artistry, affirming Breguet’s mastery of both watchmaking and jewellery.

The Reine de Naples 9935 introduces a two-level composition, uniting aventurine glass and Tahitian mother-of-pearl. The upper level in deep blue aventurine, speckled with copper inclusions, contrasts with the iridescent lustre of the mother-of-pearl plate beneath, creating a subtle interplay of light that shifts with each movement. The dial hosts applied Breguet Arabic numerals in gold, punctuated by six pear-cut diamonds. A delicately domed moon of white mother-of-pearl animates the enlarged moon phase display on a matching aventurine sky, its glow enhanced by a “secret” signature visible only under close observation. The small seconds occupy a guilloché subdial bearing the circular Quai de l’Horloge pattern, adding depth and texture to the composition.

The Reine de Naples 8925 opts for harmonious restraint. Its dials are rendered in various finishes with extra-white mother-of-pearl, full Breguet gold, or black lacquer accented by black aventurine. Each exhibits a distinct personality while preserving the brand’s codes of symmetry and clarity. The guilloché dials are decorated with the radiant Quai de l’Horloge motif, upon which the offset chapter ring displays gold Breguet numerals. A pear-shaped diamond at twelve o’clock crowns the composition, reinforcing the refined dialogue between light, texture and proportion.

Inside the 9935 beats the self-winding calibre 537L2. Composed of 225 components and 28 jewels, it measures 30.5 by 22.4 millimetres and stands 5 millimetres thick. Its frequency of 3.5 Hz ensures chronometric stability, while the flat silicon balance spring offers resistance to temperature and magnetic variation. The oscillating weight, in 950 platinum, is hand-guilloché with the newly designed Petit Trianon motif and gilded in Breguet gold. Visible beneath sapphire crystal engraved with “Breguet 250 Years”, the decoration mirrors the watch’s equilibrium between horology and ornament. The movement provides a 45-hour power reserve and powers displays for hours, minutes, small seconds and moon phase.

The 8925 houses the calibre 586/1, equally self-winding, with 180 components and 29 jewels. Smaller in scale with just 15.3 millimetres in diameter and 3.9 millimetres thick, it vibrates at 3 Hz and offers a power reserve of 38 hours. It too uses a flat silicon balance spring and features a 950 platinum rotor, gilded and engine-turned with the Petit Trianon motif. Its finishing, viewed through the sapphire back engraved for the anniversary, reflects Breguet’s constant dialogue between precision engineering and artistic craft.

The ovoid case, a signature of the Reine de Naples, is presented for the first time in Breguet’s proprietary gold. The reference 9935 measures 36.5 by 28.45 millimetres, with a height of 10.3 millimetres. The fluted caseband, emblematic of the maison’s classical language, is bordered by a bezel set with 109 brilliant-cut diamonds. The snow-set central lug at six o’clock bears 52 diamonds, while a briolette-cut gem highlights the crown. Double anti-reflective sapphire crystals softly dome above the dial and caseback. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres. Depending on the variant, the watch is fitted either with a blue satin alligator strap or a supple gold bracelet, whose articulated construction integrates seamlessly into the case silhouette thanks to an invisible clasp.

The 8925 retains the classic proportions of the collection, its 33 by 25 millimetre gold case rising only 8.5 millimetres on the wrist. The bezel and flange sparkle with 107 brilliant-cut diamonds; the lug and crown repeat the snow-set and briolette themes. The fluted band, mirror-polished surfaces and guilloché caseback ensure luminous contrast. Constructed to the same depth rating, the model is offered exclusively on a gold bracelet whose articulation and tactile fluidity echo the softness of fine jewellery.

These new Reine de Naples creations encapsulate the dual identity of Breguet’s contemporary output: the precision of its horological lineage and the grace of its jeweller’s imagination. Reference 9935 refines complication through visual harmony, replacing indicators with serenity and enlarging the poetic expanse of the moon phase. Reference 8925 exemplifies minimalist elegance, distilling the house style into purer form. Both affirm Breguet’s continuing devotion to the feminine muse that first inspired the world’s earliest wristwatch, combining heritage, technique and refined artistry into timepieces designed to be worn as expressions of beauty and mechanical integrity alike.
