Bvlgari’s Marvels For Valentine’s Day And Chinese New Year – The Fire Horse

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year fall close together this year. One speaks of intimacy and devotion. The other celebrates renewal, family and auspicious beginnings. Bvlgari stands right between the two, Roman at heart yet happily dressed in red and gold, offering jewels, watches, bags and fragrances that feel made for both a love letter and a new chapter.

 Special Edition Horse

Celebrating the Fire Horse

The Chinese New Year selection centres on light and movement. The Special Edition Horse brooch in yellow gold captures the energy of the Year of the Horse with cabochon rubies, pavé diamonds and black onyx accents. Artisans shaped it as a modern talisman for strength and success, something you pin on for luck and keep for the next generation. Serpenti Viper joins the celebration with rose gold scales touched by rubies. A twisted pendant necklace and single coil bracelet wrap the skin with that familiar Serpenti confidence, now tuned to prosperity and joy.

 Special Edition Horse

For those who prefer softer geometry, the Serpenti Pallini necklace in rose gold plays with tiny boules inspired by fifties workshops. Diamonds, rubies and onyx eyes trace the head and tail, giving a subtle sparkle rather than a shout. Bvlgari Bvlgari speaks directly to Greater China with a limited set that mixes yellow and rose gold, carnelian and mother of pearl. A pendant, bracelet, earring and supple flip‑disc bracelet bring the double logo into festive focus, easy to wear long after the lanterns have gone.

A legend going strong

Love also needs objects you can hold. The Serpenti Cuore 1968 bag returns with its sculptural heart shaped silhouette in Light Amethyst calf leather and a sinuous metal snake handle.

The tiny Serpenti Cuoricino appears as the handbag equivalent of a jewel, in Royal Ruby or Dusty Pink. The padding, curves and hardware feel unapologetically romantic, yet practical enough for an evening of firecrackers or a dinner for two.

Minaudière clutches and true stories

Bvlgari’s Icons minaudière clutches deepen that idea. Each clutch carries a small hand bound book written by women such as Linda Evangelista or Sumayya Vally. They write about recipes, migration, home and the ways women pass culture through hands and memory. The clutch no longer holds only lipstick and keys. It holds a story, which turns gifting into an exchange of heritage, not just objects.

The new Serpenti campaign brings this season’s story to life. Anne Hathaway and Priyanka Chopra Jonas appear under sharp light and shifting reflections, photographed by Chris Colls. Anne embraces the sleek geometry of Serpenti Viper, gold links moving like a second skin with every turn. Priyanka honours the sensual lines of Tubogas, its coils framing her gestures with quiet power. Together they move through a choreography of light and shadow that echoes Serpenti’s idea of transformation. The images feel like an invitation to shed old skins at the start of the year and step into love and renewal with renewed confidence.

Beauty in 3 senses: see, feel, smell

In fragrances, Bvlgari Parfums dresses a dedicated Chinese New Year fragrance box in rich red, decorated with stars and Divas’ Dream motifs. The box holds two or three bottles from lines such as Bvlgari Pour Homme, Eau Parfumée, Omnia or Allegra. You choose the combination with your partner or family in mind. The ritual of opening the box together matters as much as the scent itself.

Maglia Milanese Monete

Precious on so many levels

On the wrist, this season feels especially rich. The Maglia Milanese Monete secret watch speaks to serious romantics. A Roman silver coin with Emperor Caracalla hides a white mother of pearl dial with diamond indexes inside a rose gold case. A new Piccolissimo calibre, tiny and manually wound, keeps hours and minutes alive behind the coin. The rose gold Milanese mesh bracelet flows like fabric around the wrist. Price for this piece sits at about 157,000 euro according to Monochrome.

Tubogas Manchette

The Tubogas Manchette takes another historic Bvlgari code and turns it into theatre. A 16 millimetre yellow gold case with a pavé diamond dial anchors a wide Tubogas cuff. Coloured stones citrine, rubellite, peridot, amethyst, topaz and spessartite punctuate the bracelet, while almost twelve carats of diamonds light the surface. Inside, the automatic Lady Solotempo calibre BVS100 offers a 50 hour power reserve. Expect to pay around 194,000 euro for this bold cuff, again following Monochrome’s figures.

Serpenti Seduttori Automatic gains new curves for both celebrations. The LVMH Watch Week models use 34 millimetre rose gold cases with sapphire backs. One version pairs a vivid green malachite dial with a full rose gold bracelet. Another opts for a white opaline dial and a bracelet whose hexagonal scales carry 117 diamonds. Both watches use the compact Lady Solotempo BVS100 movement with 50 hours of autonomy. Prices remain on request, which suits their jewellery watch character.

Serpenti Seduttori

For Chinese New Year, Serpenti Seduttori dresses in a ruby red guilloché dial. The pattern suggests the speed and grace of the Horse. The same Lady Solotempo movement beats inside, while diamonds and warm gold keep the festive note. It feels perfect with a silk cheongsam, yet it will not look out of place with a little black dress in June.

Lvcea Notte di Luce

Lvcea Notte di Luce offers a quieter, almost meditative option. A 33 millimetre steel and rose gold case surrounds a black urushi lacquer dial set with fragments of mother of pearl. Japanese artisan Yasuhiro Asai composes each dial over about sixty days, layer after layer. Inside, the automatic Solotempo movement brings 42 hours of power reserve. Only eighty pieces of each version exist. Retail sits around the low twenty thousand euro range, depending on market, and each watch feels like a shared secret between Rome and Kyoto.

For love, and new beginnings…

Together, these pieces sketch an idea of love that goes beyond a single evening. Chinese New Year speaks of renewal and family ties. Valentine’s Day whispers about chosen intimacy. Bvlgari threads both moods into gold, gemstones, leather, steel and scent. The house invites couples and families to build small rituals around these objects, the way Linda Evangelista describes Sunday sauce or Sumayya Vally describes nesting in transit. A watch, a jewel, a bag or a fragrance box joins those rituals and slowly absorbs them. In the end, the real luxury lies there. Not only in the carats and calibres, but in the stories that lovers and families will write into every scratch, clasp and fold.
