I’ll be honest with you: when Bremont first told me about a Felix the Cat collaboration, I raised an eyebrow. Then I saw the watch, and that eyebrow came straight back down. So here it is, the Bremont Altitude MB Meteor ‘Felix the Cat’.
A Mischievous Icon With Real Aviation Credentials
Before you dismiss this as a gimmick, consider the history. Felix the Cat has genuine, documented aviation roots, closely associated with U.S. Navy aviation squadrons, most notably VFA-31, the “Tomcatters”, where his image features on the squadron insignia. That lineage traces all the way back to the original VF-3 squadron, carried forward through successive redesigns to the present day. Pilots adopted Felix as a good-luck charm in the earliest days of powered flight, and that spirit of courage and fearless humour sits entirely naturally alongside Bremont’s own DNA. The campaign title, “Watch Your Six,” draws directly from fighter-pilot clock-position terminology, a detail that anchors the whole collaboration firmly in genuine aviation culture rather than pop-culture opportunism.

The Dial: Stealth Black With a Dash of Mischief
The dial is where this watch earns its personality. Everything sits on a deep stealth-black background, and Bremont applies Felix directly onto that surface, shown cheekily running away with the number 6, arguably the most clever placement of an applied character I have seen on a pilot’s watch. Applied numerals and indices carry white Super-LumiNova with blue emission, so legibility at night is genuinely good. The seconds hand features a looped yellow ejection-pull handle at its tip, a signature carried over from the original MB1. That bright yellow also runs the minute track, giving the dial a deliberate visual tension: tactical black broken by two sharp pops of colour that nod directly to flight safety standards.

The Movement: BB14-AH Does the Heavy Lifting
Inside, Bremont fits the BB14-AH calibre, built on the La Joux-Perret G100 base movement, running at 28,800 bph (or 4 Hz) with 24 jewels and a healthy 68-hour power reserve. What makes this movement genuinely relevant to a pilot’s watch is its protection system: a flexible rubber mount absorbs shocks encountered during ejection-seat testing procedures, and a soft-iron inner ring provides anti-magnetic shielding on Faraday cage principles. Through the open case-back, you find the rotor finished in gunmetal grey with Geneva stripes, and Bremont decorates the case-back crystal with Felix-inspired artwork for good measure.

The Case: Trip-Tick in Full Stealth
The 42mm case uses Bremont‘s proprietary Trip-Tick three-part construction in Grade 2 titanium, finished entirely in black DLC. At 12.23mm deep and 53.29g on the head, this is a genuinely lightweight tool watch. The knurled PVD-coated central barrel extends to two oversized crowns: the upper crown sets the time, and the lower crown at 4 o’clock operates the bi-directional Roto-Click inner bezel: a 60-minute scale for elapsed time tracking. Glass box anti-reflective sapphire crystal tops the case, and water resistance reaches 100 metres. Bremont offers it on either a quick-release DLC titanium bracelet or a textured black leather strap with box-stitch detail.

Watch Your Six
This is the Altitude MB Meteor at its most characterful, and I genuinely respect how Bremont has handled it. Rather than dropping a cartoon onto an off-the-shelf dial, the brand has rooted every design decision, the yellow accents, the number 6 heist, the ejection handle, in both aviation history and the watch’s own heritage. Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, the Bremont Altitude MB Meteor Felix the Cat is priced in line with the standard Altitude MB Meteor range, which starts from €5,500 on leather and €5,950 on the titanium bracelet. Expect the Felix the Cat edition to sit at a comparable or modest premium given its limited-edition status. For a watch that makes you smile every time you look at your wrist without sacrificing a single gram of technical credibility. That, frankly, is value worth considering.
