The Foundation of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) invites the public and passionate watch enthusiasts to check out gphg.org for a look at the official nominations for its 26th edition, as well as the detailed schedule of its world tour.
The GPHG Academy held its first round of voting this summer to nominate 84 timepieces from the 320 models entered by 194 brands. Spread across 14 categories, these nominated timepieces will continue to compete for one of the 19 prizes celebrating contemporary watchmaking creativity, including the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix.
Chaired by Wei Koh, the 2026 Jury will meet behind closed doors in Geneva a few days before the awards ceremony to physically evaluate the 84 timepieces nominated by the Academy. The latter also plays a part in selecting the prize-winners via a digital vote, which accounts for one-third of the final result.
The 2026 prize-winners will be announced on Saturday 7 November at the official awards ceremony, held at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva andlivestreamed on gphg.org.
Each autumn, the timepieces nominated by the Academy – and subsequently the winners – travel around the world as part of a series of exhibitions offering an unrivalled overview of contemporary watchmaking’s creativity.
The 2026 roadshow will kick off in Mumbai from 28 September to 1 October. A first for India’s economic capital, this stop is organised in partnership with Ethos Watches, which previously showcased the nominated watches in New Delhi in 2015 and 2022.
The 78 nominated watches will then travel to Bangkok from 15 to 18 October, where they will be on display at The Forum cultural centre in the Gaysorn Amarin. This stop marks the GPHG’s return to Thailand following its inaugural edition in 2019, which was also organised in partnership with PMT The Hour Glass.
Geneva’s Musée d’Art et d’Histoire will exhibit all 84 nominated timepieces (78 wristwatches and 6 mechanical clocks) from 29 October to 15 November. A rich programme of cultural outreach activities will be on offer to the public and to schools.
The final stop on this tour is in London from 18 to 23 November, where Watches of Switzerland – which has already partnered three exhibitions in New York – will have the privilege of showcasing the prize-winning models from the 2026 edition.
