Amvox and the DB9

Reading Time: 2 minutes

There are a few things that can bring me to tears of joy even in the darkest moments: my wife, a DB9 with an Amvox Transponder linked and chocolate.

If you are a watch lover forget about smart watches, quartz, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, minute repeater and other complications. Go to Le Sentier, Switzerland, or to some other place where you can find a dealer, take this beauty and…
If you are a car lover forget about key-less entry, remote on key, fingerprint motor start,  voice-activated start and anything else. Go to the UK or another place where you can find a dealer, take this beauty from below (asking first the dealer to program it for the first beauty) and…
Put the first beauty on your wrist, go next to the second beauty, press the sapphire watch glass on the left side between dial’s  8 and 9 o’clock and see how the car is responding with the welcoming signal. Then take the loved one with you inside.
Start the engine! (with the emotion control unit) If in this moment you don’t have at least a small tear of joy in one of your eyes’ corner or a very big smile, you’re probably made of stone, steel or something else. I would recommend you take all these three on a ride on the Deutsche Autobahn (No Speed Limit – but handle with care, you got three precious things with you) and make at least a one or two hours trip. You can even chronograph your best times!
At the end find something pleasant to eat, drink a glass of wine while remembering the engine sound,  the tightness of the calfskin leather strap of your Amvox, the joy in your beloved one’s eyes and the warmth in your heart.
The first beauty is a Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox2 DBS Transponder (as far as I know, it may also be programmed  for other Aston Martin models by the dealers). The time piece comes in a titanium case keeping inside the JLC calibre 751E. The Amvox features hour – minute (with bâton à facette hands), date, vertical-trigger chronograph with hour, 30min, 60sec counter  on a black satin dial with luminescent numerals and hour-markers.
This watch, with reference number 192T48A, has a heart beating with 28800 vph (vibrations per hour), 2 barrels and a power reserve of 65 hours. The case in 44mm diameter and 15.4mm thickness has 5bar water resistance (enough for a normal use with accidental splash and rain) and, in combination with the 20mm double folding buckle, offers quite a cosy wearing.

The second beauty is an Aston Martin DB9 with a gorgeous engine sound. One more thing to say, since this is a blog watch and not a car blog: the AM motto is Power, Beauty, Soul.

The Amvox can be ordered directly with the DB9 using the AM DB9 configurator or at the AM dealer so it’s not necessary to make the two trips above. Of course, it’s more romantic to do so. If you want more information then you can call the JLC customer service at +41 21 580 18 33 or/and AM customer service at +44 (0) 843 903 2389.
The Amvox2 images are taken from: Jaeger-Lecoultre website, and the DB9 picture and the sound are from Aston Martin website and I would like to thank them for the files and most important – for the joy they are bringing to my life.
