“Certina”, taken from the Latin “certus”, meaning “assured”, “certain”, as their exclusive trademark for the export and marketing of their outstanding quality Swiss Made watches. (source: Wikipedia).
I decided to start with a citation from Wikipedia because I didn’t know how to say it better: a high-quality product with a name to declare that. In a crowded market for watches under 2000 euro, Certina has a lot of competitors: the sister companies under the SWATCH patronage, a lot of other companies and micro-brands. But I think they have their market, their clientele and a good fame.
I would like to present to you today the DS-2 Chronograph 1/100 sec. DS-2 collection was released in 2013 and has some interesting pieces.

Packed in 41 mm diameter stainless steel 316L case (water resist 100 m), the Chronograph movement ETA 251.264 AA PRECIDRIVE Quartz offers something from the bigger leagues – 1/100 sec chronograph. This movement was designed in collaboration with ETA and it’s a real deal.
The dial has satin brushed finish with hands and indexes with Super-LumiNova® and offers quite a show in the dark. The sapphire crystal is rounded and with anti-reflective coating.
A presentation video from DUBACH Uhren & Schmuck | DUBACH Watches with the DS-2 1/100:

The bracelet can be stainless steel 316L with a butterfly clasp with 2 push-buttons, leather with deploying clasp with 2 push-buttons or rubber with pin buckle.
The other variants with the green theme:

The back case is stainless steel, comes with DS (Double Security), turtle symbol and, for a limited edition of 1888 pieces, with COSC certificate and special box too. The crown features the DS logo as a statement for the Double Security: water resistance and shock protection.

The green version with steel bracelet costs 775 CHF. This collection series can be checked out on the Certina Website Sport Collection.
I would like to thank CERTINA for the pictures and information and DUBACH Uhren & Schmuck for the video.
