NEW YORK – Christie’s Watches Online The New York Edit (29 November – 13 December) achieved a total of $1,344,168 with 85% sold by lot and 105% hammer above low estimate. There was global participation with bidders from 31 countries and over 36% new registrants, and a total of 37% of Millennials buyers and bidders.
Leading the sale was from independent watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier in 18k yellow gold, which sold for $63,000. The sale also achieved notable results for a Patek Philippe an 18k yellow gold Perpetual Calendar, with Moon Phases which achieved $60,480 and a Cartier Travel Clock in Yellow Gold and Enamel, which achieved seven times its low estimate and sold for $44,100
Other strong results were achieved for Parmigiani Fleurier, Toric Nubia 18k Rose Gold wristwatch with date which realized $44,100; a steel Rolex retailed by Tiffany & Co. sold for $40,320; Rolex Daytona “Zenith” 18k yellow gold chronograph wristwatch which achieved $40,320.
