Geneva. 2002. The prestigious Red Cross Ball is born. The same year as a very special watch brand called De Bethune.

What a journey it’s been since then… De Bethune is particularly proud to support the Ball this year by taking part, with characteristic elegance, in the silent auctions organised during the gala evening.

Geneva, 21st May 2019 – More than 500 guests, personalities and celebrities from all cardinal points will be converging to Geneva for the prestigious Swiss Red Cross Ball in a chic and elegant setting on Saturday, October 12th, 2019. The theme this year will be “A helping hand for the disadvantaged.”

The objective? To raise funds in support of the Swiss Red Cross’ national and international programmes for the most disadvantaged. Over the past sixteen years, the annual Swiss Red Cross Gala evening has raised a cumulative total of more than CHF 8 billion – and become an essential source of funding for the Swiss Red Cross and Geneva Red Cross initiatives.

De Bethune has chosen to support the cause with elegance, by participating in the silent auctions that will take place live during the event thanks to a dedicated app on an iPad made available to all guests. Up for auction will be an exclusive De Bethune day, an experience usually reserved for the brand’s VIP clients, with a visit to De Bethune’s watchmaking atelier at Auberson by Sainte-Croix in the Swiss Jura, transfers in a limousine and a personal welcome, moments shared with Master Watchmaker and founder of the brand Denis Flageollet, and a private lunch with CEO Pierre Jacques.

In associating itself with the Red Cross Ball, De Bethune is not only particularly happy to be able to participate in a major international event, but also and above all, especially honoured to support a charitable initiative born in Switzerland. There could be no better context for reaffirming De Bethune’s deep attachment to the Swiss values of sharing, respect, generosity and openness so dear to the people behind the brand.

Pierre Jacques, CEO of De Bethune said: “The prestigious Red Cross Ball and De Bethune were born the same year, in 2002. Since then, the Ball has become a major internationally recognized event, and De Bethune has grown to become an international brand present on all continents, several times rewarded for its excellence by the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Participating in the Red Cross Ball is a unique opportunity for providing active support to the various programmes run by the Red Cross and its movement. Above all, we are very happy and proud to contribute to a movement born in Geneva, at the same time as us, and thus to share part of our success in favour of their action programmes.
