Boutique Swiss watchmaker Edox adds another outstanding timepiece to its family of rugged sports watches with the launch of the SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic. Honouring the Edox heritage of classic models designed for paratroopers and the military in the 1960s and 1970s, SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic combines the best of two worlds – the no-nonsense functionality of a dive watch and the style and aesthetics of a precision pilot’s watch.
The beautiful case, black dial, striking indices, oversized crown and domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal faithfully reflect a Sky Diver watch designed by Edox in the 1960s. The black dial reflects the precisioninstrumentsthat once accompanied adventurers conquering land, sea or air – the Fly, Drive and Dive challenges that suit Edox watches to a tee. But the materials and the new 38mm diameter size of the contemporary SkyDiver are pure 21st century. Military styling runs right through the SkyDiver’s DNA, from its semi-matt finish dial to the solid caseback proudly portraying the emblem of a paratrooper unit. The SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic complements its rugged military vibe with practical functionality for any adventure, be it on land, sea or in the air, including a ceramic, scratch-resistant diving bezel and water-resistance to 300m.
The hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova in beige, another vintage touch, and there’s also a date window at three o’clock. The SkyDiver runs with military precision, thanks to its Edox Calibre 80 automatic movement, manufactured by Swiss specialist Sellita. The hand-assembled timepiece features a carefully crafted stainless steel case, beautifully offset by a strong bracelet. This brand new case size also comes with more colourful combinations and turns itself towards a new unisex audience.
Contemporary in character, the SkyDiver 38 Date Automatic reinforces the pioneering spirit of adventure that has driven Edox from its very beginnings. So unleash your adventurous spirit with the new Edox SkyDiver.

EDOX – SkyDiver
Rumoured to be launched following a Swiss colonel secret request in the 1960s, the new SkyDiver collection pays tribute to paratroopers and the extreme conditions they might face – on land, air or sea. Displaying a vintage military look, the SkyDiver is a reliable timepiece protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a stainless steel case. Water-resistant up to 30ATM / 300m, the SkyDiver will remain readable at such depth thanks to a high standard of night visibility on watches – Super-LumiNova – which covers its hands and indexes. Whether its origin is fact or fantastic, the SkyDiver is a truly hand-assembled timepiece ready to face real adventures.
Like time itself, Swiss boutique watchmaker Edox never stands still. Founder Christian Ruefli-Flury was driven by his heart when, in 1884, he made a pocket watch for his belovedwife Pauline’s 25th birthday. Delighted, she convinced him to set up his own company – Edox. Over the decades Edox has forged a reputation as the ‘‘water champion’’ of the watch world, c reating world-leadingdivers’watches.Ruefli-Flurywouldnodoubtbeamazedandhonouredhowhislegacyhasflourishedoverthepast135years.
One of the few remaining family owned Swiss watchmakers, Edox proudly acknowledges its heritage but also embraces innovation and imagination in its c ollections. Today, Edox is known for its highly water-resistant timepieces, complex hand-polished watch cases and traditional hand assembling. Edox. A company shaped over time. A company shaping time.
