The FHH’s circle of partners keeps on growing. The Lucerne-based watchmaker Carl F. Bucherer becomes the 44th brand to join the foundation, whose vocation is to promote excellence in watchmaking around the globe.

Geneva, November 15, 2018 – Earlier this year, Carl F. Bucherer dazzled the industry with its Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral, a mechanically ingenious timepiece with a floating Tourbillon that further demonstrates the brand’s leading role in peripheral winding technology. Truly a family firm, now with the third generation at its helm, Carl F. Bucherer joins the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) as its 44th partner-brand.

Each new member that joins its ranks strengthens the foundation in its mission to make known the creativity, expertise and innovative spirit of Fine Watchmaking. Thanks to this panel of brands, representing traditional horology as well as watchmaking’s “new school”, the foundation stands out as a cultural authority in this distinctive environment, where scientific reasoning combines with the applied arts. Throughout the year, its activities to train professionals in the sector, to inform the general public and to organise events contribute to promoting this singular approach to time measurement worldwide. These initiatives haven’t escaped the attention of Carl F. Bucherer, which enters the FHH’s circle of partner-brands.

Carl F. Bucherer’s history dates all the way back to 1888, making this year its 130th anniversary. During the early 2000s, the company made constant progress towards its goal of becoming a manufacture. It began work on an in-house movement in 2005 and, in 2008, released the CFB A1000, the world’s first automatic movement with a peripheral oscillating weight. Since then, Carl F. Bucherer has continued to develop its manufacturing excellence at a new production site in Lengnau, near Biel (Switzerland). This is where such innovative movements as the ingenious T300, the heart of the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral, are designed, developed and manufactured to the highest level of quality.

It is this past and this expertise that make Carl F. Bucherer a name to be reckoned with. The foundation is particularly proud to count it among its partners.
