Reading Time: 4 minutes

Reflections of pure elegance, subtle shades, delicate radiance: H. Moser & Cie. has reinvented the natural jade dial. Dressed in red gold, the Streamliner Tourbillon Wyoming Jade model celebrates this decorative stone in style, as the embodiment of refined sophistication, understated modernity and timeless elegance. With no logo and just three indices, the dial offers an unobstructed view of the one-minute flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock, laying bare the full splendour of jade. An artistic canvas on which nature blends with horology, creating an exceptional watch that transcends time. Limited to 100 pieces.

Obtained from the ground in Wyoming, USA, the jade used on the dial of the Streamliner Tourbillon Wyoming Jade is a 100% natural stone that originates from a pure and preserved source. The jade is untreated to retain its authentic character for a raw and exceptional beauty. Each dial is a unique work of art. Containing subtle, naturally occurring marks and unique shades, the jade is worked with meticulous respect for its original structure, whose exceptional quality is revealed in its uniform composition of an almost immaculate purity.

The manufacturing process for the jade dials used on the Streamliner Tourbillon Wyoming Jade watch is the result of a marriage between traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. It all starts with the painstaking selection of the raw material, with each piece of jade carefully chosen for its inherent quality and beauty. Once the material has been selected, the jade is precision cut using CNC technology in a liquid environment. This allows slices of jade just 1 to 1.2 mm thick to be obtained. These slices are then laid on jigs, wetted and inspected under a light to determine the optimal positioning of the plates for cutting the dials.

The dials created, which are carefully glued to metal plates, are CNC milled to obtain the perfect outer shape, then refined down to the desired thickness. This process requires extreme precision to preserve the uniform structure of the jade. The final touch is added by hand polishing, which is carried out with care to eliminate any chips or scratches while accentuating the natural brilliance of the jade.

At this stage, the dial-maker takes over from the lapidary, gluing the dials onto a brass base once a thin layer of varnish has been carefully applied to the back of the dial to prevent the brass plate from being visible due to the transparency, and to preserve the aesthetic integrity of the jade.

The intensity of the Wyoming jade chosen by H. Moser & Cie. is extremely rare, with a concentrated olive
tone that adds much depth to the watch. The absence of any logo on the dial, which opens on the one-minute flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock, highlights the beauty and aesthetic power of this semi-precious stone. A marvel of ingenuity, the automatic HMC 804 calibre that powers the Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is equipped with a double hairspring designed and produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie.’s sister company Precision Engineering AG. Thanks to this pair of matched hairsprings, the movement of the point of gravity on each spring when it expands is corrected and the effect of friction reduced, significantly improving accuracy and isochronism in continual pursuit of perfection.

The result of a union between nature and watchmaking craftsmanship, the Streamliner Tourbillon Wyoming Jade is to be enjoyed fully yet in moderation, since only 100 pieces are available. Very rare.
