Discovery Days, Which Discoveries Await You?
1) James’ Odyssey, an intergalactic trilogy
This original approach which is a first in the watch industry consists in allowing people people discover the quintessence of our watchmaking creations within a mysterious and enigmatic universe. To do this, we have devised a trilogy: three films that constitute both an epic saga across the galaxies and the starting point of our watchmaking creativity. This journey to the heart of the universe will be accompanied by commentary from Hollywood star Robert Davi.
Episode 1 | Space Revolution
James faces the Prince of Darkness, the master of evil, who wants to destroy the world. James must bring back to Earth a meteorite that is the sole means of saving the world.
Episode 2 | Ad Astra
At the height of his battle with the Prince of Darkness, James is trapped inside a black hole. He struggles against the forces of gravity, knowing that his only hope lies in the purity of diamond…
Episode 3 | Memoris
James has finally managed to bring the meteorite back to earth. Is that the end of the story? Definitely not! Since the Prince of Darkness was unable destroy the world, he now wants to bring time to a halt. To achieve this, he has seized the first chronograph ever made, the one created by Louis Moinet…
2) Black Book
This prestigious book tells the story of Louis Moinet, from its origins to the present day. Through its 100 pages, it presents a unique historical heritage, from the invention of the chronograph to the artistic creations made for sovereigns. It then offers details of new contemporary concepts, and enables readers to explore the two universes of Louis Moinet: Cosmic Art and Mechanical Wonders.
The “Black Book” will be presented in digital form as of April 30th, followed by a deluxe printed edition in a limited edition of 3,000 copies.
A new website will be unveiled on April 30th. The aim is not only to modernise, but also to cultivate an even closer relationship with our friends and clients. A “tomorrow” section will reveal some of our creative features, while offering Internet users the opportunity to project themselves and Louis Moinet into the future.

About Louis Moinet
Ateliers Louis Moinet was founded in Saint-Blaise, Neuchâtel, in 2004.
The fully-independent firm was established to honour the memory of Louis Moinet (1768-1853): master watchmaker, inventor of the chronograph in 1816 (certified by Guinness World Records™), and pioneer in the use of very high frequencies (216,000 vibrations per hour). Louis Moinet was a watchmaker, scholar, painter, sculptor, and teacher at the School of Fine Arts – as well as the author of the Traité d’Horlogerie, a watchmaking treatise published in 1848 that remained a definitive work of reference for a century.
Today, Ateliers Louis Moinet is perpetuating this legacy. The firm’s mechanical timepieces are produced as one-of-a-kind models or limited editions only and comprise two categories: Cosmic Art and Mechanical Wonders. Louis Moinet creations often make use of unusual and rare components, such as extraterrestrial meteorites or prehistorical materials. The brand’s core values are creativity, exclusivity, art and design. This uniquely creative mechanical approach combined with bespoke fine watchmaking has enabled Louis Moinet to win some of the most coveted honours around the world, including a UNESCO Award of Merit, six Red Dot Design Awards (including one Best of the Best Award), a Horological Creativity Contribution Award, gold and bronze medals in the Chronometry Competition, ten Good Design Awards, two Middle East Watch of the Year Awards, two Robb Report “Best of the Best” Awards, three German Design Awards, a Moscow Grand Prix Award, and a “Chronograph of the year” distinction from Begin Magazine, Japan.
