On the 12th of September, Max Busser and Friends launched the M.A.D.1 GREEN, more precisely, the possibility to participate in the raffle, open from September 12th until September 26th, 2023.
Usually, I am one of the first to publish the news about MB&F, but this time, life and my own random and disorganised way of handling it made me miss the launch and realise how wrong the way of approaching my time, work, feelings, and life is. My excuse is that I had some difficulties with the email server and missed the synchronisation for a few days just around the 12th…
But again, MB&F made me have some serious inner talks about my hopes and dreams, past and future. Just like the LM Thunderdome made me remember some milestones in my personal life, the M.A.D.1 GREEN made me think of the present and future. I don’t know… it is just something that this family of horological lovers touches in my inner core. Like any close family, it helps me find the best in me, in others, in the past, present and future. This evening, I made some decisions that will shape the future of the Watch I Love Magazine. Hopefully, in good; otherwise, I will reassess…
The next best thing? The one?
When the M.A.D.Editions were announced, and the MB&F’s outside world was taken by storm. M.A.D.1 BLUE: the “Friends and Tribe edition” paid tribute to the close family, making it possible for the “helpers” and the Tribe to get a super affordable piece that received the same amount of creativity as an MB&F Machine. The project was created purely as a thank you to all those who had helped create MB&F, it was not intended to be a business, and its price did not reflect the real value of the timepiece.
Since the echoes were huge and the waves created an entire storm, MB&F decided to create a batch accessible to the public. The M.A.D.1 RED gathered 41-thousand requests for the 3-thousand pieces (in two batches).
The question that pops into my head, again and again: is the M.A.D.1 a grail, or just the next best thing coming from such a sought-after brand? For most of us, it is a grail, something to wish for and hope that someday we get the chance to own a piece and be part of the Max Busser & Familly tribe. Not only do you have to have the financial means, but also need to win the lottery…
