I follow Marie on social media since quite a while. The reason, besides her creative agency Studio Bug Me (designing watches for collectors and brands), is her original creativity and artistic understanding of life. Following her on Instagram (for instance) will bring you a joyful side of life and a sweet side of nature. In love with flowers and nature in general, Marie made the next step. From creating for others, she had finally the courage to come with her own collection. As unique as the woman who wears it – each girl for herself
Marie Boutteçon was born from the beautiful blend of fine watchmaking and fine jewellery design, perfectly combining the precision of watchmaking and the delicate art of jewelry into premier watch designs.
We invite each woman to the world of Marie Boutteçon -a space for her infinite creativity founded on Marie’s imagination. The Marie Boutteçon woman will be able to experience timeless and refined watches that are full of movement and life.
Each bezel is made of sterling silver and designed with the best of fine jewellery techniques. The variety of bezels we offer to showcase the versatility and uniqueness of its wearer because we believe women’s style, her state of mind, her emotions, and her lifestyle cannot be expressed with a singular watch face.
All designs are created by our founders, Marie Boutteçon & Etienne Ruffieux. Both are expert watch designers who have worked for the world’s most prestigious haute horlogerie brands. They have created some of the most unique, complex artistic watches with jeu d’esprit.
Marie Boutteçon
Her inspiration is nature, as nature is the greatest charmer of humanity. She is also inspired by the design of the 1970s. She’s fascinated by the movement, the rhythm in art, the modern approach to free bodies, and the pure lines of fashion of this decade. It’s a delicate balance of movement, organic shapes, intricate details, and fine craftsmanship. Her watches translate this era.
Marie was born in France and today she splits her time between France & Switzerland. She was raised in the French countryside surrounded by nature and the garden. She was also immersed in the world of art at the same time.
Family plays a big part in her life and work. Marie’s father is a master of wood marquetry and is recognized globally for his precision and unique craftsmanship. Through observing her dad, watchmaking became a natural interest early in her childhood, as she discovered the refined creations of the luxury brands and the infinite possibilities of design.
She obtained a Master’s degree in Fashion, Accessories, and Luxury Goods. After her studies, she had experience with Hermès at 24 Faubourg St Honoré, Paris Carré d’Hermès, and then with Parisian fashion designer Barbara Bui in the Marais as a stylist.
She began her career in the watch industry designing for Parmigiani Fleurier where she created very unique haute horlogerie timepieces. She continued her career working for luxury watch brands before decided to create Bug Me design agency with Etienne Ruffieux, where they designed for watch manufacturers, independent brands, and private clients worldwide.

From the essence of watchmaking comes a set of expectations that require manufacturing of the highest standards. From the initial concept to the latest designs, Marie Boutteçon watches are produced under the rules of Swiss watchmaking traditions. This foundation of technical perfection and aesthetic is in every detail: the shape of the hands, the curve of the case, the integration of the bracelet, and the elegance of the bezels. True style.
THE ART OF CREATION
Our creative team starts by sketching and making the first line drawings, then we create the volumes in 3D modelling to carve the most beautiful forms. This allows us to shape the material, perfect the curves, and hand-draw the details. We then gouache is a crucial step in the process of creation. On paper, each colour represents a shade of materials, a reflection, a structure or a stone that will decorate a telescope.
SWISS MADE
The team has great expertise in Swiss Haute Horlogerie, and this impacted the way we engineered our watch, no compromise. Inspired and led by the savoir-faire (know-how), we have defined the quality criteria for our watches made in Switzerland.
The journey of the Marie Boutteçon watch allows us to work with the best craftsmen and experts in the art of engraving, polishing, texturing, crimping, carving, and painting. This approach gives us the freedom to work with the best creative craftsmen, recognized by their talent in their field.

Daydreams and chinoiseries. This is a fantasy world coming to life before our eyes. Immersed in the infinity of emotion color evokes, we explore variations of white and pink. It’s all about tenderness and gentleness. The metal lines surround the enamel and create a stunning setting of clouds passing in the sky.
