To mark the return of the MotoGP World Championships, Meccaniche Veloci is climbing into the saddle of MV Agusta’s Italian-made racing motorcycles, the two bikes competing in the Moto2 classification for the MV Agusta Forward Racing Team managed by Giovanni Cuzari and ridden by Italian talents Simone Corsi and Stefano Manzi.
The meeting between the two brands – MV Agusta racing division and MV Meccaniche Veloci – was almost inevitable considering the many things they have in common: Italian spirit, a passion for engines and competition, as well as constant research into excellence in their respective sectors.
The watch brand’s logo will be clearly visible on the track on the side of the two bikes’ fairing. The Meccaniche Veloci brand will also be fully visible on the technical transportation systems, in the team hospitality area, on the backdrop and LED wall, inside the box and on the team’s website in the section dedicated to partners.
“Meccaniche Veloci is returning to the racing world via an extraordinary partnership that goes beyond mere sponsorship. What we have in common with MV Agusta is in our very DNA: we have always celebrated quintessential Italian motoring ingenuity, we embody a love of beauty and that gift of doing things with passion the likes of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world; we are ambassadors of creations designed to be different from all others, that come from the heart and must be carried out to perfection. We are extremely proud to share this vision, which will take Meccaniche Veloci to racetracks the world over together with MV Agusta Forward Racing”, says Cesare Cerrito, CEO of Meccaniche Veloci.
Since 2019, MV Agusta’s prototypes have once again been present on the international racetracks of the MotoGP after an absence of 42 years. To date, MV Agusta remains the most successful team of all time, with 75 world titles (38 riders and 37 manufacturers), including the legendary victories of Giacomo Agostini.
“I am delighted to be able to announce this partnership. Cesare and I hit it off straight away and everything was arranged in record time. We are dealing with two embodiments of Italian excellence, both the envy of the world, so for us it is an honour to carry the two MVs on the facings. I would like to thank Cesare for his faith in us and I cannot wait to see the results of this fantastic collaboration”, says Giovanni Cuzari, Team Owner of MV Agusta Forward Racing.
This 100% Swiss Made high-end watch brand with an Italian soul was founded in Milan in 2006 with the QuattroValvole, a watch that instantly embodied the personality of the brand.
In 2016, the company moved to the watchmaking district of Plan-les-Ouates in Geneva, becoming “Meccaniche Veloci – Genève” and creating timepieces with a distinctive aesthetic and technical content developed in-house. The profile of the cases in the Icon and QuattroValvole collections is inspired by the distinctive shape of engine pistons.
The watches are driven by the brand’s own movements, the calibre MV8802 for the four-time-zones and the calibre MV8880 that houses a tourbillon mechanism. Annual production is limited to a few thousand pieces.
References to the world of engines are numerous on the watches through materials, colours, and the collaborations that the brand regularly forges with brands associated with the automobile industry.
Meccaniche Veloci boasts a following that includes prominent independent watchmaking enthusiasts from various sections of the sporting world.
The brand is currently distributed via an international network of 25 select multi-brand points of sale. Customers can also purchase online via its website www.meccanicheveloci.com. Its Bespoke Atelier customisation service produces unique pieces for individual clients.
