The press announcement dated September 17, 2024, reveals details about the upcoming Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 event. Scheduled from April 1 to 7, 2025, this event is set to be the largest watchmaking salon ever held in Geneva, with a record number of 60 brands participating, including 7 new exhibitors.

Among the newcomers are the esteemed Maison Bulgari and six independent brands – Christiaan van der Klaauw, Genus, Kross Studio, MeisterSinger, Armin Strom, and HYT. The 2025 edition aims to celebrate the youth by focusing on young talents, apprentices, recent graduates, and craftspeople across various activities and showcases.

Geneva will also host related activities for young professionals and enthusiasts, highlighting the city’s rich watchmaking tradition. The foundation behind the event, the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation (WWGF), was initiated by Rolex, Richemont, and Patek Philippe in September 2022, with Chanel, Hermès, and LVMH joining later as key members. The last edition of the event in April 2024 attracted a record 49,000 visitors, and further details are available on the event’s website and media center.

Covering an event as extensive as Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 with a small team will pose significant challenges. Firstly, the sheer scope of the event, featuring 60 brands and a multitude of activities spread over a week, would require meticulous planning and coordination to ensure comprehensive coverage. I put my hope and trust in the organizer to prepare an agile agenda and enough transparency and possibility of short noticed changes.

Diana and me face the daunting task of capturing key moments, interviewing a wide array of key persons, and attending various showcases — all without the risk of spreading ourselves too thin. Furthermore, the inclusion of “young talents” and the city-wide celebrations would add extra layers of complexity (although, I doubt we will be able to go out of Palexpo during those days), demanding both high mobility and rapid content processing to meet real-time reporting demands. In essence, successfully covering this grand event with limited personnel would necessitate strategic prioritization – so some brands will fall from our schedule, efficient resource allocation – as mentioned, I hope for a good organization from the exhibitors, and potentially leveraging digital tools for effective content management and dissemination – less published press releases and more live content.

But we will try our best…
