In the last days, 02/27 – 03/01/2020, Stuttgart hosted the 2020 edition of the Retro Classics – the world’s largest and most beautiful meeting place. Ten full halls were filled with automobiles, motorcycles and other “engine and wheels” machines. As a car lover and passionate driver, the show is a must. This year I have seen and re-seen magnificent and rare exemplars, Steve McQueen but also novelties and prototypes. From all the cars seen at the show, I have selected my favourites. I didn’t categorise a top but I definitively have an all favourite. Enjoy!
The beast – KTM X-BOW GT4
While most of us know KTM for their motorcycles, the GT4 is an exception.
The crazy pink – Dodge Challenger R/T 440
Aaaaah, pink muscle car? Yeap, and a cute one too… Dodge Challenger R/T 440 Six Pack – a 390HP beast in a lovely colour.
The crazy British – BAC Mono R
Briggs Automotive Company Ltd. is a British company from Liverpool. I will tell you just one thing – carbon fibre (lots of it). Ok, another two things: 9000rpm, bespoke.
Vrooom! – What was that? The Lancia 037 Rally
Lancia has some impressive stories in racing. Here a Lancia legend signed by Walter Röhrl.
Anniversary speciality – Ferrari style, the F50
The Ferrari F50 numbers only 349 pieces. This one is one of them with registration date back in 1996. A living 520 HP legend.
A look into the future – Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA
I work in automotive and I can confirm the Mercedes-Benz is a pioneer between pioneer. Always in search of new tech. Concept EQA is an example of the latest technologies combined with a bit of automotive art. By all means electric.
Beautiful but rare – Artega GT
Artega GT was the first model of the German manufacturer. A gorgeous little beast.
The red – Ferrari F355 Berlinetta
Ferrari F355 Berlinetta in red is a dream for any enthusiast.
The ONE – Porsche 356 Roadstar “Nr.1”
The first 356! How many of us have seen James Dean movies and dreamed at a classic Porsche. Porsche 356 Roadstar is for many enthusiasts the Holy Grail. This pieces can be seen at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
The belle of the ball – Aston Martin Vanquish V12 Inspired by Q Unique Piece
Elegance is an attitude, even for the sports car. For those who know me, my choice is no surprise. Aston Martin is my all-time favourite from childhood to maturity. This Vanquish is a unique piece from the Q by Aston Martin Collection. This particular model from 2015 has Glacial blue paint that I have never seen before in the wild. It is my favourite.
Hi there Steve!
And forgot to mention. Steve McQueen was there. In the wax…
In the gallery, you will find some more nice cars that I liked on the show.
A big thank you for the Retro Classics organisers for the invitation.
