This beautiful lady watch appeared for the first time in the 2015 year’s Revue Thommen catalogue with Ref. 108.01.0x. I consider it a good option for a lady in search of a classic lady automatic watch. The Urban Lady collection has 4 watches that I like a little bit more than others because of the Mother of Pearl dials.
The white Mother of Pearl version with steel strap, Ref. 108.01.05, costs 2860 CHF / 2633 EURO. The same price has the black Mother of Pearl steel strap version, Ref. 108.01.06.
My favourite ones will be the ones with black calf leather, Ref. 108.01.07 (white dial) and Ref. 108.01.08 (dark dial) that cost 2740 CHF / 2523 EURO.
The watches have a 36 mm diameter case and 100m water resistance. The shape of the case is classic and reminds of the 70’s glorious Genta’s design. I have to admit that the combination between the dark Mother of Pearl dial, the black leather strap and the case shape is lovely.
A nice contrast is obtained using the combination of the brushed mat case body with beveled edges and the highly polished bezel and between the size of the case and a little bit oversized polished crown. The screw-locked crown comes with the Revue Thommen logo.
The Mother of Pearl dial is nicely decorated, it has paved indexes, a date window at 3 o’clock and a big Logo at 12 o’clock. The hands are polished steel and the hour and minute’s hands have a luminescent decoration line.
The movement is an in-house calibre: the automatic GTM 1124 (Gédéon Thommen Manufacture). The 11 1/2″ calibre (25.6mm) has 25 jewels, beats with 28800 vph and has 38 hours of power reserve. This movement is decorated with brushed and perlage surfaces.
The watches have a sapphire crystal with antireflective treatment on top and open back case, also with sapphire crystal.
The straps, steel and leather, have a beautiful butterfly clasp with REVUE THOMMEN logo.
I consider the Revue-Thommen a good deal for price quality ratio, especially when it comes to in-house movements. They still have nice watches in their collection and I hope that they will extend the current collection with new and interesting models or they will reissue some of their older ones.
