The H. Moser & Cie. Red Gold Streamliner with a rubber strap – exclusive to Moser Boutiques

Reading Time: 5 minutes

In honour of its first two boutiques, recently opened in Hong Kong and Shanghai, H. Moser & Cie. is launching its Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic in red gold on a rubber strap. A brand-new look for a model which will only be available in the brand’s exclusive spaces and online on its sales platform. To date only available in steel, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph is characterised by its unique design, which is one of the most refined and fluid available on the market and, doubtless, the most distinctive.

Within a decade, H. Moser & Cie. has increased its turnover eight-fold and its production five-fold, and the brand is now the frontrunner in the realm of independent watchmaking. This growth has been accompanied by the opening of several dedicated points of sale, particularly in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and the development of subsidiaries worldwide, in Asia, the Middle East, America and China. The concept and look of all these dedicated spaces is well-defined, reflecting the brand’s philosophy, taking a minimalist approach, blending tradition and innovation, with an artfully provocative edge and a playful spirit.

To mark this important turning point, H. Moser & Cie. is launching a model which will be exclusively available in its dedicated spaces and on its online platform. For this highly symbolic timepiece, the brand has chosen to present its Streamliner chronograph in red gold on a rubber strap, instead of a metal bracelet, for the first time since the launch of this collection in 2020. Subtly integrated into the case, this rubber strap gives this timepiece a completely new look, combining the warm reflections of the 5N red gold with the complex shades of the Matrix Green dial. The Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Boutique Edition can best be described as assertively sporty and timelessly elegant.

Like a secret signature, the transparent lacquer logo is a subtle reminder of the pre-eminence of the product. The brand must take a back seat to its creation. Cultivating a minimalist philosophy, H. Moser & Cie. is synonymous with refined elegance and understatement. The rest of the aesthetic features and functions of the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Boutique Edition remain unchanged. It is still water-resistant to 12 ATM and the chronograph function can be used on land and under water. Designed as a truly sculptural piece, its 5N red gold case boasts harmonious proportions and beautiful aerodynamics. It is topped by a subtly domed Glassbox type sapphire crystal, echoed by the see-through case-back.

Around the edge of the Matrix Green dial, the red and white outer track measures the seconds while the inner track counts the minutes. At the 12 o’clock position, the three-dimensional 60 numeral dominates the dial, harking back to the stopwatches of the Sixties and Seventies, when legibility and functionality were key. The extremely fine hands that precisely measure the elapsed time have a thicker base and a fine tip, echoing those found on the counters in a car or a measuring instrument. Always with a focus on legibility, H. Moser & Cie. has opted for a red seconds hand. The Manufacture has chosen three-dimensional gilded curved hands to indicate the hours and minutes, formed of two sections and featuring inserts made from Globolight®, an innovative ceramic-based material which contains Super-LumiNova®.

On the movement side, this automatic chronograph with a central display and flyback function on the minutes and seconds is equipped with one of the best chronograph calibres ever designed. This movement was developed with a focus on minimalism and legibility by AGENHOR; this company specialises in designing complex watch movements and is one of H. Moser & Cie.‘s partner companies, in which the brand is a shareholder. Visible through the sapphire case-back, the new calibre HMC 907 features a 72-hour power reserve and a highly contemporary finish, with the traditional Moser stripes angled at 45° and anthracite grey rhodium-plating on the bridges and main plate. The oscillating weight has been placed between the movement and the dial to allow the operation of the chronograph and its column wheel to be admired.

H. Moser & Cie.’s own and unique take on Haute Horlogerie.
