Imagined and created by Bruno Belamich, Creative Director and Co-Founder – Bell & Ross, each detail of the film has a precise meaning. Since the 2019 launch of its new iconic collection, BR 05, Bell & Ross has progressively entered a new product offer and brand narrative. This new urban territory of expression has been developed as a natural, organic extension of the brand aviation and instrumental watches DNA. The BR 05 is the descendant of the – cockpit counter inspired – BR 03 but is rounded and refined in its ergonomic architecture. The brand’s communication is now describing the urban landscape as a new territory of challenge and adventure.
In the eyes of the Urban Explorer
All the Bell & Ross ingredients are reunited to spread a new message. While reaffirming its principles since its origins, the renowned Form follows Function is now paired with a new urban identity.
The protagonist in action is a young and active man with a precise unique style reflected on all his accessories: from the design eco-conscious bicycle to his eyeglasses and clothes, and of course to his watch, a BR 05 Chronograph.
More than a watch, a daily companion, a work tool, a jewel of strength. The one timepiece that he has chosen for his wrist. He is indeed both a stylish character and a man on a professional mission: he moves in a modernist Parisian landscape to arrive to a very surprising destination where he meets his team.
Our character is a man of sight and his eyes are his primary tool. He is a photographer ready for an urban shooting from the very top. Taking off via a top of the line helicopter, he dominates the city and orient the navigation to choose the very best point of view.
And from the top, our hero, landscaping a silent yet bright Paris, perfectly embeds the dual yet complementary aspects of the Bell & Ross philosophy: the utilitarian specifications combined with the strong, sharp eye for design and aesthetics.
Mastering the present time & taking off
But there is more than meets the eye. In line with the brand’s manifesto and visual scheme, this short movie demonstrates a minimalist and authentic approach on its way of communicating. In simplicity without forgetting its effectiveness. This is reflected in these highlights; a refined and pure design. More chic. Black & White. To catch the essence and the brand timelessness.
We might feel an imminent arrival of the storm but the atmosphere seems calm. This metaphorical image echoes the way Bell & Ross faces the current worldwide situation. Staying focus on the present, but resolutely turned towards the future with courage and modernity.
Our photograph hero attitude is laid back professional: his photo is planned, though, executed. His spirit is high and poetic. He observes from the top. And sees Paris from the top. An almost empty city under his screening. He moves in a 100% Bell & Ross’ ecosystem and historical source of inspiration – the dashboard – that has characterized its watches for the past 25 years and his action takes place from the sky; where everything is at the right distance and can be handled smoothly.
On the last sequence, this openness is easily translated by the overall plan the movie offers to the audience. Looking straight at the horizon. Widening the scope of possibilities…
