Montblanc Star Legacy

The new Montblanc Star Legacy Product Line

Reading Time: 4 minutes

At Montblanc, we have defined classical watches typology through their “Elegance” and history pedigree. Our Spirit of Formal Elegance, which is embodied by the Montblanc Star Legacy product line, is inspired by Minerva pocket watches from the 19th century and the beginning of 20th century. The nowadays timepieces include round polished pebble-shaped cases, like those found on antique pocket watches; onion-shaped crowns with the recognisable Montblanc emblem; refined dials with the iconic exploding star guilloché pattern; and Sfumato straps coming from the Pelletteria in Florence, Italy.

In 2020, Montblanc will introduce a new 43 mm size to the Star Legacy product line. More than just a size, it is a new expression of how elegant a timepiece can be. The two new men’s pieces will be: the Star Legacy Automatic Date and the Star Legacy Chronograph Day&Date.

It is all about the harmony of contrast as we are offering stainless steel cases with satin-finished and polished details and dials with two tones either ivory or anthracite.

Each timepiece features an open case back so the wearer can appreciate the mechanics of the automatic movement.

These two new Montblanc Star Legacy timepieces offer very useful indications and provide the perfect mix of classical watchmaking along with a stylish, yet casual look.

Minerva History

Montblanc – A true watchmaker since 1858

Montblanc watchmaking is built on a set-up that brings two manufactures together, based in Le Locle and in Villeret, in the Swiss Jura mountains.

Minerva watch presentation

The Montblanc watchmaking story began in 1858 when Mr. Charles-Ivan Robert founded a watch workshop in the Saint-Imier valley. This marked the beginning of the historic Minerva era. Already during the end of the 19th century, pocket watches started to gain some fame for their crown
