The teddybear watches – Omega DeVille Prestige Orbis

Reading Time: 2 minutes

“A cuddly companion given to children undergoing eye surgery is the inspiration behind OMEGA’s new collection of watches, made in support of Orbis International and its Flying Eye Hospital. The teddy, which is given to every young Orbis patient, makes it easier for doctors to explain what’s about to take place and gives comfort to the often confused and anxious child before and after surgery.” from the Omega Orbis Watches Website.
A welcoming and heart touching initiative from Omega: a series of special watches, the Omega Deville Prestige Orbis, designed to raise a smile and to raise funds for the children in need.
Composed of 3 watches, one for men and two for women this collection has something special: a dial with teddybears.

The men’s leather strap version, Ref. 424.13.40.20.03.003, comes in a 39.5 mm diameter steel case (3 atm water resistance) with domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a sun-brushed and lacquered blue dial with teddybears on the background with date window at 3 o’clock. The dial has polished-domed Roman numerals for the hour 12/3/6/9 and polished indices. The COSC certificated chronometer has hidden inside the Omega caliber 2500.

This model is available with a leather strap or a metal bracelet. Both versions are gorgeous and at this size, the watches are easy to wear and elegant. The recommended price is 3000 Euro for the version with blue leather strap and 3100 Euro for the one with steel Prestige bracelet.
The first lady model, Ref. 424.10.33.20.55.004, comes equipped with the same Omega Caliber 2500, packed in a 32.7 mm diameter steel case. The dial features  a layered OMEGA teddybear pattern and a date window at 6 o’clock, has polished-domed Roman numerals for the hour 12/3/6 and 9, diamond indexes for the rest and a blue central seconds hand.
The price for this model is 4300 Euro and comes with a polished Prestige steel bracelet.
The second lady model, Ref. 424.10.27.60.53.003, is the smallest – 27.4 mm and costs 2400 Euro. The dial is sun-brushed and lacquered blue with teddybears on the background like the men’s model but with the numerals and diamond indexes as the first lady model.
This watch is equipped with the quartz caliber Omega 1376 (dimensions 9mm x 15.15mm): with rhodium-plating, gilded engraving and stepper motor with three impulses per minute (minute hand). This model has no seconds hand.
Omega caliber 2500, found in the first two models, is based on the classic ETA2892-A2: a 25.6mm diameter, automatic, beats with 25200 vph, has 27 jewels and 48 hours power reserve. The special add of Omega was the co-axial escapement and the chronometry. The movement has a rhodium-plated finish.

All the watches have a  caseback with the Omega Teddybear logo on the vertically brushed steel.
