It’s known among my colleagues and friends that I love unusual designs and I’m interested in special ways of telling the time. The Nord Zeitmaschine timepieces are unusual and I love them (and have a place in my “to have” list).
For today I would like to present to you the Variocurve.
Packed in a 43.6 mm diameter and 15.5 height mm steel case, between two sapphire crystals (one flat for the back and one curved), the movement NORD N2 has as base the ETA2824 calibre. The Variocurve-mechanism is patented with Patent Nr. CH 704 094: double minute segment display/hours decentralized / date, 25 jewels and 5 integrated precision micro ballbearings. Sliding parts as the minute hand from the material ARCAP. Symmetrical 360° winding rotor with integrated winding weights, which are not visible by looking through the bottom. – Information from http://nord-zeitmaschine.ch/
This beautiful watch comes in four versions of dial colour but my favourite will always be the one with the blue hand. It’s available at certain retailers for 14000 CHF.
I would like to thank Nord Zeitmaschine for their pictures and video.
