Carl F. Bucherer and Jason Joseph are kindred spirits, united in their shared Swissness and their understanding of precision timekeeping. Family is important to Jason and, of course, Carl F. Bucherer is a family-owned and led company, just as it has been since it was founded in 1888. Jason himself says that he greatly benefits from his unique background, which is a combination of Swiss discipline and what he describes as the laid-back patience of the Caribbean.

Carl F. Bucherer, the Lucerne-based prestige watch manufacturer, was founded in 1888 by its namesake. More than 130 years later, it is one of the few Swiss brands that continues to be owned and led by the founding family. It has established a global reputation for its outstanding luxury watches and for its leadership in the use of peripheral technologies in watchmaking. Carl F. Bucherer is proud to work with an impressive family of ambassadors, including Jason Joseph, who share the brand’s values and its passion for performance.

Jason Joseph: a passion for overcoming hurdles

The 22-year-old has already made quite an impression on European tracks – he won the 110m hurdles event at the European Under-20 Championships in 2017 and in 2019, won in the same discipline at the European Under-23 Championships. At home in Switzerland, he has also claimed victory in the National Championships in 2019 and 2020. Jason looks forward to defending the title later this year. Jason has also left his competitors behind at the National Indoor Championship 60m Hurdles every year since 2017.

Jason looks forward to his partnership with Carl F. With the “Spring” (green), “Summer” (yellow), “Autumn” (orange), and “Winter” (blue) variants, the Lucerne-based manufacturer offers modern cosmopolitans perfect companions for a stylish journey through the year. “After the past couple of challenging months, we felt it was time to bring some bright colors onto the wrists of watch aficionados around the world. The TravelTec collection celebrates above all the strong connection between people across time zones and borders; something that has never been more important than now. The four seasons, on the other hand, represent the imperative nature of change; something that Carl F. Bucherer has always embraced, even in this very demanding year with all its obstacles. All of that comes together in the Patravi TravelTec Color Edition Four Seasons, which we are introducing during our exclusive brand and product experience in Geneva from August 26 to 29 this year,” says Sascha Moeri, CEO Carl F. A distinctive and ultra-robust stainless-steel case of 46.6 mm frames the colourful and bright dial, which features two chronograph counters, a small-seconds subdial, a date display, and central hour and minute hands. A visual delight is provided by the date indication under an effective loupe – the figures are milled out of the date ring and remain invisible until they appear over a white background in the date window. The four new models come on radiant rubber straps that match the unique colours of the dials.

For those who want to stay globally connected and keep up with life and work across borders while moving through the seasons, the Patravi TravelTec offers the chance to keep track of not just two, but three different time zones at a glance: an outstanding technical achievement that the construction engineers at Carl F. Bucherer realized by integrating part of the time zone mechanism into the case of the watch. This was a true innovation in the industry when it was first introduced in 2006, and it has since been patented.

This sophisticated mechanism required for selecting the corresponding time zone can be geared in two directions – east and west, or with and against time – via a single monopusher. This fascinating process can even be observed through a window that has been cut into the side of the case. Those who enter another time zone and thus need to adjust their local time can do so very conveniently by moving the wedge-shaped hour hand forward or backward an hour at a time. Anyone who needs to communicate frequently with other time zones will appreciate the combination of the patented Patravi TravelTec time zone mechanism and the 24-hour indication for the second and third time zones, which enable the wearer to quickly and easily discern between day and night time.
