Geneva, October 12, 2021 – The composition of the 2021 GPHG Jury is officially revealed today on Gphg.org. Uniting the expertise of 30 personalities from the world of art and watchmaking, it will officiate under its new president Nick Foulkes to determine the 2021 prize list.
At the beginning of September, the GPHG international Academy – composed of more than 500 key stakeholders from the main watch industry sectors – nominated the 84 timepieces in 14 categories that are in the running to win one of the 18 prizes to be awarded to the year’s finest watchmaking creations, including the prestigious Aiguille d’Or “Grand Prix”.
The Jury will meet in Geneva a few days before the ceremony, behind closed doors and under notarial supervision, to physically evaluate the 84 nominated watches and to choose the winners by secret ballot. The entire Academy will also take part in the final vote via the dedicated digital platform.
The Jury is made up of 30 people, all members of the GPHG Academy, half of whom are drawn from the Academy and the other half chosen jointly by the president of the Jury and the GPHG, as stipulated in the rules.
The winners will be announced on Thursday November 4 during the 2021 awards ceremony, which will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the GPHG, a strategic unifying event dedicated to promoting contemporary watchmaking creations. The ceremony will also be broadcast live on Gphg.org, Euronews.com, by our media partners around the world, as well as in deferred transmission mode by the Léman Bleu and Hantang Culture channels.
