DOXA is very pleased and proud to have been able to do its part for the World Watch Auction in Aid of the Australian Wildfire Crisis. The SUB 200 “130th Anniversary” diver’s watch went for USD 5,000 at the auction, almost three times its suggested retail price. The proceeds went directly to Australian environmental organizations.
DOXA immediately answered the call from Time+Tide, Australia’s leading watch media platform and the brand’s Australian distributor, donating a SUB 200 “130th Anniversary” limited edition diver’s watch for the special auction in aid of the Australian bushfire crisis. The online auction ended on Friday, January 31st at 9 am AEDT. The entire proceeds from this auction of 24 prestigious watches will be disbursed to these environmental organizations in Australia: The Country Fire Authority; Wildlife Victoria; Gippsland Emergency Relief; New South Wales Rural Fire Service; and WWF-Australia.
“When Andrew McUtchen at Time+Tide called and started telling me about this important initiative, I said Yes! before he could even finish his sentence,” explains Jan Edöcs, CEO of DOXA, “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the auction and congratulate the buyer of the SUB 200 “130th Anniversary” No. 17/130 on his acquisition. Thank you for supporting Watch & ACT!”

About the SUB 200 “130th Anniversary”
At Baselworld 2019, DOXA celebrated the brand’s 130th anniversary with a new edition of the famous DOXA SUB 200 in steel, limited to 130 numbered copies. Originally launched in 1967, the revolutionary SUB concept became the first truly purpose-designed diving watch for the general public at an affordable price point. With a case diameter of 42 mm, the DOXA SUB 200 features a sapphire crystal with the characteristic domed shape of the plexiglass used back in the day. Water-resistant to 20 ATM, equivalent to a depth of approximately 200 meters, the model features a unidirectional rotating bezel. The vintage vibe of this special series is further accentuated by the beige-coloured SuperLuminova™ gradations and the light dot in “Light Old Radium” at zero minutes on the diver’s bezel. The watch is powered by a Swiss automatic ETA 2824-2 mechanical calibre and kept on the wrist with the emblematic DOXA “rice grain” mesh bracelet, which is also made of 316L steel and features a folding clasp with a diving extension. Additional distinctive traits of this limited edition: the screw-down case back engraved with “130 Years” and the orange seconds hand.
