Now Edox honours that legacy with a spectacular new timepiece – the Delfin Mecano 60th Anniversary Limited Edition. The new anniversary edition not only goes deeper than the 1961 original (300m water-resistance this time) but sports a host of dazzling design and technical improvements.
First, that striking dial with its rotor design; the rotor embodies a steady, constant movement in perfect harmony with the precision mechanical ‘engine’ that powers the watch. That ‘engine’ is the Swiss-made, ultra-reliable Sellita Calibre 853, skeletonised so you can glimpse the incredible technical prowess and superb finishing that goes into every Edox timepiece.
Surrounding the dial is a cool 12-sided bezel, a distinctive design that Edox first introduced into its watches in 1973. Each side of the bezel represents one-hour increments. The watch case is constructed of tough stainless steel, coated with black-grey PVD for a beautiful feel on the wrist. At 43mm, the Delfin Mecano 60th Anniversary Limited Edition makes a bold statement when worn and the transparent, fully screwed case back (like the dial, protected by the scratch-resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal) adds to the watch’s ‘wow factor’.
