In 2001, the Elegance Collection welcomed a classic hand-wound three-hand timepiece, showcasing the timeless quality and beauty of Grand Seiko design. With its subtle and sophisticated presence, this 37,3mm wide elegant timepiece has become one of the watches of choice for Grand Seiko lovers worldwide. Today, 22 years after its first introduction, an updated version of this beloved timepiece is born. Thanks to the discreet redesign of its lugs, this new reference is now compatible with the recently introduced Grand Seiko SBGW305 stainless-steel beads-of-rice bracelet.
The timepiece features a matte ivory dial with a rich simplicity and purity, only adorning the Grand Seiko logo.
From the see-through case back, held in place by six screws, one can enjoy the heart of this timepiece, hand-wound Grand Seiko 9S64 calibre. Despite relatively small dimensions, this movement achieves a full three-day power reserve when fully wound and a stable level of precision, thanks to the use of proprietary SPRON alloys for both hairspring and mainspring. To prevent any damage to the mainspring that might arise from overwinding, this hand-wound calibre benefits from a special slipping spring structure.
With its moderate size and box-shaped sapphire glass, Grand Seiko SBGW301 abounds in midcentury charm and elegance.
Grand Seiko SBGW301 will be available from Grand Seiko Boutique and selected European retailers from January 2024.
