H. Moser & Cie. launched in the first official day of the Geneva Watch Days 2020 a new watch in their Streamliner Collection. The H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green fumé dial comes, as its name might “suggest” with a three hands, time only configuration and the renown Moser fumé dial in the Matrix green colour.

If you are one of the lucky ones that have never been affected by depression, you need to understand that the others might be affected by various issues. I have never met a person, me included that is 100% happy and does not suffer or have suffered from depression or various mental disorders. It is time to speak up, to search for help. There is no stigma in being unhappy, or being depressed. Unfortunately, it is a part of modern life. Fortunately, you, me, anyone can seek now for help. So don’t hesitate, reach out…

Streamliner in steel and Moser’s specific attention to details

The Streamliner comes in an original shaped 40mm stainless steel case. The case’s lines are inspired the first high-speed trains from the Twenties and Thirties, nicknamed “Streamliners”. Those pieces of machinery, as the Moser’s wristwatch, are characterized by complexity hidden between beautiful lines, details hidden in apparent simplicity.

A suite of brushing techniques is used to create a sober, restrained appearance. The top of the face is decorated with a sunburst brushing. The case body is delimited with a generous mirror-polished line that follows sinuously the case’s profile. The caseband suffered from mass substruction that accentuates, even more, the Streamliner concept.

On the right side of the Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green fumé dial we can find the “M” logo crown. Due to case construction, the crown’s grip is excellent. Setting and winding are pleasant activity.

H. Moser & Cie., daring as always, adventures in the integrated bracelet territories. As any attempt made by the independent brand, the result is spectacular. The links follow the Streamliner concept of the case with a complex shape. The finishes involve the same brushing as main decoration with generous polished lines that delimits the links. The bracelet feels and looks extraordinary on the wrist. Malleable and comfortable, the bracelet of the Streamliner completes the look.

Matrix Green fumé dial

We can all agree that when it comes about fumé dials, H. Moser & Cie. is a leader. Their clean dials and simplicity make the watches stand out. So is the case of the Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green: a gorgeous sunray fumé with a lighter green shade in the centre that darkens towards the edges.

The watch’s face is adorned with a sporty printed register and rounded baton applied indexes. The hands’ shape reminds of the Empire State Building but with a rounded tip. As luminescent material, the hands feature Globolight® insert. Globolight® is a ceramic material containing Super-LumiNova®. The central seconds’ hand is built in a similar manner.

The dial of the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green fumé dial features the brand’s name printed in the specific cursive font. The entire scheme follows the Moser brand language.

Independent pure – Calibre HMC 200

At the heart of the Streamliner Centre Seconds stays the 100% Swiss mechanical movement: the HMC 200 self-winding calibre. The movement is a slim 5.5mm thickness with a diameter of 32mm and fits well in the watch’s 9.9mm (without sapphire crystal) thickness. The watch features a power reserve of three days regulated by a 3Hz Precision Engineering AG system with Original Straumann Hairspring®.

On the decoration topic, the HMC200 sits on the brand’s specific lavish side. The charming double Moser stripes, gilded H. Moser & Cie. logo, the precise chamfering with a nice polished surface, perlage and other small details respect the independent brand rigours of movement’s decoration.

The solid 18K gold oscillating weight engraved with the H. Moser hallmark offers a fast wind due to the bi-directional pawl winding system. Note in the picture above the mirror polish of the jewels’ sinks.

Typic Moser: high quality, undeniable originality and beauty, independent

H. Moser & Cie. is not a brand for the masses. It is a well-established independent luxury brand producing exceptional wristwatches. The Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green fumé dial is no exception from this rule. Featuring a good-looking case with an exquisite choice of finishes, a splendid graded dial and a remarkable movement, the watch is made to impress.

On my 18.5 cm wrist, the watch feels comfortable. It offers a nice balance between size, weight and wrist look. The watch is quite slim and the integrated bracelet have an enjoyable “softness”. What I am trying to say is the fact that besides its noteworthy beauty, the bracelet is unexpectedly comfortable.
