Singer Reimagined was created in 2017 to explore the world of high watchmaking and create unconventional chronographs powered by unique engines that stand apart from traditional chronograph movements. Singer Reimagined has always been about finding new ways to improve functionality and articulate an original and innovative design language. The encounter between Marco Borraccino, the Managing Director and co-founder of the brand, with Hamdan Bin Humaid Al Hudaidi and Melika Yazdjerdi, co-founders of Perpétuel, planted the seed for a remarkable take on the Singer Reimagined Flytrack.

Perpétuel is a haven for collectors who enjoy the experience of collecting as much as they enjoy the acquisition of a sought-after timepiece. Founded with a mission to change the global perspective on collecting, Perpétuel curates unique collections of horological timepieces and objects. For their latest collaboration, co-founders Hamdan Bin Humaid Al Hudaidi and Melika Yazdjerdi have turned to a company reflecting their love for innovative design, engineering talent and expert craftsmanship – Singer Reimagined.

Although relatively new, Singer Reimagined has become a sensation for its unique perspective on high watchmaking. The first opus of this independent watchmaking brand, the Singer Reimagined Track1, is a fantastic chronograph that profoundly reimagines this essential function. Powered by the impressive Agengraphe calibre, this central-indication chronograph was crowned by several industry accolades, including the prestigious GPHG award for the Best Chronograph in 2018.

The brand’s second creation also reimagines the functionality of a chronograph with a focus on functionality, but this time with radical minimalism. In effect, the Singer Reimagined FlyTrack captures the functionality of a flyback chronograph in a truly original way. Its central sweep-seconds hand can be zeroed and restarted immediately by pressing and releasing the pusher at 2 o’clock. This lets you restart timing quickly without needing to go through the traditional sequence of start-stop-reset.

The movement lets you measure short time-based events as many times as you wish without interfering with the watch’s timekeeping. It can also be used to zero-reset your watch time, ensuring precise and practical time setting. Last, for optimal legibility, the hours can be read on a rotating disc encircling the dial.

As explained by Marco Borraccino: “Our Flytrack movement offers the most intuitive and reactive way of measuring short-time events. The proprietary built-in clutch system allows you to use the sweep second hand as a one-minute timer at the simple touch of the push-button. The second hand becomes an interactive device for sequential measurements without interfering with the timekeeping of your watch. The mechanism can also be used to zero-reset the seconds and thus precisely synchronize the time of your watch”

Injecting its personality into Flytrack, Perpétuel has opted for a matte green dial paired with a circular-brushed golden flange. The “Flytrack” seconds hand works in conjunction with a pulsometer scale printed with golden Eastern Arabic numerals and graduated for 15 pulsations to quickly measure one’s heart rate. Push the button, count 15 beats and read your heart rate from the scale. At the dial’s periphery, the hour disc also features Eastern Arabic numerals set against a black ceramic aluminium background. The different time indications stand out in orange, ensuring enhanced legibility and a modern touch.

The stylish barrel-shaped 316L stainless steel case has a 43mm diameter and features a thin, round bezel. Its dynamic yet elegant shape is accented with alternating polished and brushed finishes and is softy curved for enhanced ergonomics. Positioned at 2 and 4 o’clock, the pusher and the crown are made of ZRN gold colour-coated titanium. The individual limited-edition number of each watch is indicated by the 18-carat gold plate applied on the case. The water-resistance is rated 10 ATM / 100 meters.

Turning the watch over, the exhibition caseback offers a view of the hand-wound Singer AG6364 calibre. Comprising 314 components, this superb movement is derived from the mighty Agengraphe calibre. It runs at 3 Hz, and its two barrels can store 72 hours of power reserve. The movement finishes include Geneva stripes, perlage, beautiful anglage and meticulously polished jewel sinks.

Released in an exclusive run of 10 watches only, the Singer Reimagined Flytrack Perpétuel Limited Edition is worn on a green textile strap matching the colour of the dial. It is secured by a steel folding clasp released by a pair of pushers.

On this one-of-a-kind collaboration, Marco Borraccino, Co-Founder of Singer Reimagined declared: “The Singer Flytrack Perpétuel Limited Edition is a tribute to the partnership and friendship with Hamdam, Melika and the whole Perpétuel team in Dubai. The design process and the final results are mirror of the passion we all share for uniqueness and exclusivity.”

Hamdan Bin Humaid Al Hudaidi Co-Founder of Perpétuel declared “Singer Reimagined is a compendium of what contemporary not modern high-end independent watchmaking stands for. Their watches are distinctive, their movements are innovative, everything is meticulously crafted with obsessive attention to details… Flipping the Flytrack Perpétuel Limited Edition over to discover its spectacular movement is sheer pleasure for the connoisseur”
