Sinn Spezialuhren zu Frankfurt am Main presents the first exciting novelties in 2023, first and foremost a new diver’s watch made of a bronze alloy developed in-house and for which a patent application has been filed: T50 GOLDBRONZE 125!
The complete novelties list contains the T50 GOLDBRONZE, T50 GBDR, T50 – New diving watch series T50 with Captive Safety Bezel, U1 S mother-of-pearl S – The diving watch with mother-of-pearl dial, limited to 300 pieces and the U50 DS – The diving watch with a decorative grinding dial, limited to 1,000 pieces.
T50 – The high-strength titanium diving watch with Captive Safety Bezel.
Masculine design vocabulary with a concept tailored for high operational reliability – that’s the concise profile of the T50. A look at its properties shows: with this diver’s watch, nothing can go wrong when diving.
Thanks, for example, to the robust safety diver’s bezel. It is an extremely reliable tool for time measurement because it is captively attached to the case and secured against unintentional twisting. “Press first, then turn”: this is the memorable principle behind the simple yet effective anti-twist mechanism. When things get tough, TEGIMENT Technology ensures exceptional scratch resistance, while Ar‑Dehumidifying Technology ensures greater functional reliability and freedom from fogging.
The Sinn T50 uncompromisingly embraces clear readability and measurability of time – thanks to a display that has been reduced to the essentials and strikingly large sword hands. In addition, all functions and prints on the dial and safety bezel that are not relevant to the actual dive are visually understated. The timepiece relies on colour-coding to ensure that it can be read reliably, particularly in darkness or under unfavourable conditions. The hour hands and indices on the dial glow green, while the minute and second hands and the main marking on the rotating bezel are bluish.
That a watch as masculine as the T50 feels comfortable in water is probably also because the case and back are made of high-strength titanium. The reasons are clear: high-strength titanium has an exceptionally high salt water resistance and is extremely robust. The high wearing comfort proves to be an added bonus – not least due to the low specific weight and because titanium does not cause allergies. With a diameter of 41 mm, the T50 cuts a wearable figure in any situation – without losing any of its virile design.
T50 GBDR – The high-strength titanium diving watch with captive bezel made of Goldbronze.
Developing and using “unconventional” case materials for watchmaking is one of our core competencies. It is deeply rooted in our company’s historical DNA and has produced a number of astonishing timepieces in the past. The T50 GBDR edition is another impressive demonstration of our extensive expertise in the field of metallurgy.
For the diver’s bezel of this interesting timepiece, we are using a bronze alloy we developed, which has a patent pending. This alloy, referred to as Goldbronze 125, has an exceptionally high degree of purity, and one eighth of it is gold. With bronze, we are embracing a material that has been used frequently in a wide range of maritime applications in the past. However, the exceptionally high degree of purity of our Goldbronze 125 results in improved skin compatibility and increased corrosion resistance to seawater compared to conventional bronze alloys. Material-technically matching this, the case of the T50 GBDR is made of high-strength titanium. As this metal does not cause allergies, the watch provides exceptionally high wearing comfort overall. Although the surface of Goldbronze 125 darkens due to oxidation, developing a patina, we achieve inertia against environmental influences with the gold alloy component. The surface darkens much more slowly than with ordinary bronze. The darkening can also be easily removed using the special gold bronze care cloth we provide.
A concept tailored for operational safety ensures that nothing goes wrong when diving. This can be seen, for example, in the robust diver’s bezel. It is an extremely reliable tool for timekeeping, as it is captively attached to the case. It is also protected against accidental twisting. “Press first, then turn”: this is the memorable principle behind the simple yet effective anti-twist mechanism. When things get tough, Ar‑Dehumidifying Technology ensures greater functional reliability and freedom from fogging.
The captive safety diver’s bezel made of Goldbronze 125 harmonises perfectly with the matte black dial – an interplay that skilfully contrasts with the more objective-technical appearance of the bead-blasted, high-strength titanium case. All this does not come at the expense of clear readability and measurability – because the display has been reduced to the bare essentials. Important design features of this concept are strikingly large sword hands and the visual understatement of all functions and printing on the dial and safety bezel that are not relevant to the actual dive. The timepiece also uses colour-coding to ensure reliable reading of reference times, especially in the dark or under adverse visibility conditions. The hour hands and indices on the dial glow green, while the minute and second hands and the main marking on the rotating bezel are bluish. As the crown is located at 4 o’clock, it prevents pressure on the back of the hand, even during physically demanding activities.
With its diameter of 41 mm, the Sinn T50 GBDR model cuts a wearable figure in any situation – especially on narrow wrists.
T50 GOLDBRONZE – The diving watch made of Goldbronze with captive bezel, limited to 300 pieces.
Developing and using “unconventional” case materials for watchmaking is one of our core competencies. It is deeply rooted in our company’s historical DNA and has produced a number of astonishing timepieces in the past.
The T50 GOLDBRONZE edition, limited to only 300 pieces, is another impressive demonstration of our extensive expertise in the field of metallurgy. For this interesting timepiece, we are using a bronze alloy we developed, which has a patent pending. The case back of the Sinn T50 GOLDBRONZE is made of high-strength titanium.
The unusual-looking dial of the T50 GOLDBRONZE is stylishly coordinated with the attractive gold bronze look. What makes this so special: we have given it an irregular decorative grinding. As a result, the wearer enjoys an exciting play of colours as the base material on some parts of the dial reflects different nuances of light. This procedure gives the watch an extraordinary quality: as a result, every Sinn T50 GOLDBRONZE is essentially unique – the appearance of the dial achieved during the machining process can never be repeated.
The design of the Sinn T50 GOLDBRONZE is therefore quite masculine – supported by a concept tailored for operational safety. It ensures that nothing goes wrong when diving.
With its diameter of 41 mm, the T50 GOLDBRONZE model cuts a wearable figure in any situation – especially on narrow wrists.
U50 DS – The diving watch with decorative grinding dial, limited to 1,000 pieces.
Limited to 1,000 pieces – documented on the case back – and with a high-quality intricate finish. These features alone ensure that the U50 DS will turn heads. The dial is certain to spark particular interest. Thanks to the irregular finish, the wearer can enjoy an exciting interplay of colours as the base material reflects varying nuances of light on different parts of the dial. And the real kicker: thanks to this, each watch is unique. Each machining process produces a truly unique impression. Despite this, the design does not impair clear readability. This is also thanks to the striking design and minimalist display.
The Sinn U50 DS is regarded as a robust and precise timepiece by watch enthusiasts. It is based on the principle of maximum reliability. This performance promise is fulfilled by the use of safety-related equipment. For example, the case is made from high-strength seawater-resistant German Submarine Steel. Experts will recognise immediately that this gives the watch exceptional strength and outstanding non-magnetic properties. The captive rotating bezel prevents the loss of set times. And as the watch may be exposed to particularly harsh conditions, we have also equipped the case and rotating bezel with TEGIMENT Technology to ensure exceptionally high scratch resistance.
Furthermore, the U50 DS was put through its paces by the DNV. Pressure resistance was verified and certified to a diving depth of 500 metres (= 50 bar), as was temperature resistance functionality in accordance with the European diving equipment standards.
U1 S Mother-of-Pearl S – The diving watch with mother-of-pearl dial, limited to 300 pieces.
Without question, it is the shimmering mother-of-pearl on the U1 S Mother-of-Pearl S – limited to 300 pieces – that makes the dial and the entire watch so striking, in part because this natural product goes so well with the high-quality Black Hard Coating. The result of this successful collaboration is a timepiece with a unique, technical appeal that is a joy to wear each and every day.
In addition to its striking design and minimalist display, the U1 S Mother-of-Pearl S is a high-quality timepiece that is also very suitable for everyday use. For example, the case and crown are made from high-strength seawater-resistant German Submarine Steel. Experts will recognise immediately that this timepiece is not only extremely resistant to seawater, but is also highly non-magnetic. The diver’s bezel with minute ratcheting has a captive connection to the case, so impacts are absorbed with ease, making it exceptionally durable. The positioning of the crown at 4 o’clock prevents pressure on the back of the hand, even during physically exerting activities.
By meticulously testing the U1 S Mother-of-Pearl S, DNV demonstrated its outstanding reliability for all to see. Pressure resistance was verified and certified to a diving depth of 1,000 metres (= 100 bar), as was temperature resistance functionality in accordance with the European diving equipment standards.
