As the year began, so it has ended: in early 2023, Carl F. Bucherer launched three unique minute repeaters to kick-start the brand’s 135th birthday celebrations; now, as its anniversary year comes to a close, the Swiss watchmaker reveals an additional collection of three one-of-a-kind minute repeaters that epitomize its embrace of contemporary style and modern materials – Carl F. Bucherer Manero Minute Repeater Anniversary.
This second expression of the Manero Minute Repeater Anniversary not only represents the pinnacle of Carl F. Bucherer’s technical finesse – with each watch powered by its most intricate movement, featuring three peripherally mounted high complications – but also its progressive spirit as it seeks to remain at the heart of the zeitgeist.

Astonishing finesse
Each watch, limited to one piece only, features a peripherally mounted automatic winding system and a minute repeater regulator, as well as a floating tourbillon. Designed, developed and manufactured entirely in-house, the CFB MR3000 movement took six years to perfect and is comprised of 617 individual parts.

All three watches share the same fundamental characteristics: They are each presented in 18 K rose gold cases and feature bezels set with 40 baguette-cut gemstones, 18 K rose gold dials in a degradé finish, eight index marks containing baguette-cut 0.3-carat diamonds, and 18 K gold hands. All are set on high-end textile straps with 18 K rose gold folding clasps.
The collection comes to life in three stunning executions of bold colour. In blue, the Manero Minute Repeater Anniversary’s bezel is decorated with forty 4.7 carat sapphires; in green, forty 4.7 carat tsavorites; and in purple, forty 3.1 carat amethysts. That the gemstones exactly match each other is an incredible feat: all are naturally occurring and naturally coloured.
Triple peripheral
Through a sapphire crystal case back, each watch’s movement can be fully appreciated thanks to three peripherally mounted complications. First, the automatic winding system features a bidirectional oscillating weight made of 18 K gold, colour-matched to each design. Next is CFB’s signature floating tourbillon: Neither mounted on the movement’s main plate nor attached to overlying bridges, it appears to float in space. Distinctively, Carl F. Bucherer’s tourbillons are displayed at 12 o’clock, rather than 6 o’clock.
Finally, this watch features a peripherally mounted minute repeater regulator to control when hammers strike two gongs to sound hours, quarter hours and minutes. Communicating the time in this way – acoustically – remains one of the most complex achievements in the world of watchmaking. Carl F. Bucherer has lent the complication additional uniqueness – unlike most such mechanisms, its minute repeater components are fully visible in the dial: the regulator at 6 o’clock, the hammers at the base, and the circular gongs running around the inside edge of the case. These visual cues convey the incredible skills and audacious panache of the house. A final detail: the space between the gongs at the 6 o’clock position can be engraved to the wearer’s specification – a delightful subtlety likely only known to the wearer.
Such is the complexity of the CFB MR3000 movement: each one takes Carl F. Bucherer’s most talented artisans more than a week to assemble.
