Every second counts, particularly in the special stages, and so this year Union Glashütte has once again created the perfect chronograph for the Sachsen Classic: the Union Glashütte Noramis Chronograph Limited Edition Sachsen Classic 2022 – A sporty retro look coupled with vintage-inspired details, an exquisite chronograph movement and production is limited to just 350 pieces.
Your eye is instantly drawn to the timepiece’s extraordinary dial, which takes its inspiration from the old-fashioned tachometers of vintage cars. Incorporating separate rings for the hour and minute display and for the chronograph display adds an extra layer of depth to the vintage look. This retro feel is enhanced even further by the various finishes on the individual components, such as the chrome ring between the snailing finish ring and the grey sunburst effect on the inner section of the dial.
As well as these eye-catching retro elements, the Union Glashütte Noramis Chronograph Sachsen Classic 2022 boasts other typical vintage characteristics, such as its special, easy-to-operate pump push-buttons and the sapphire edge-domed crystal.
The black chronograph display is set against the grey dial. The second and minute displays, a must for rally drivers, take the form of black ring and vinyl embossing on the grey, sunburst finish dial to produce a three-dimensional layer. The large, white second and minute numerals allow users to read the time with ultra precision – even after dark, thanks to Super-LumiNova®.
This also applies to the Super-LumiNova®-coated hour and minute hands. The beating heart of this vintage watch is the latest movement incorporating the Union Glashütte UNG 27.S2 silicon balance spring, which can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case-back. The watch has a total diameter of 42 mm, allowing the date window to blend harmoniously in to the dial at 9 o’clock.
In a final subtle nod to the vintage rally styling, the exclusive timepiece is fitted with a brown calfskin strap complete with racing holes for a sporting touch.
