This year at SIHH, Girard-Perregaux presented two gorgeous ladies’ watches: the Cat’s Eye Plum Blossom in steel with a mother-of-pearl dial Reference: 80484D11A701-HK7A and in pink gold with aventurine dial Reference: 80484D52A401-CK4E. The famous GP ellipse is adorned with diamonds. The backside reveals a pure horological pleasure through the automatic movement GP03300-0149/0150.
Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Plum Blossom
The Cat’s Eye Collection is a fabulous women collection that brings haute horlogerie to the wrist of a lady connoisseur. The collection combines the beauty of the mechanical movements with delicate feminine elements like diamonds, mother-of-pearl and aventurine.

A classic ladies case
The Girard-Perregaux ellipse case measure 35,40 x 30.40 mm – a balanced size between the rather small ladies watches and the need of space of the calibre GP03300. The materials of choice are stainless steel and pink gold.
The rounded case body is delicate with a sublime integration of the lugs. The top bezel bears 62 brilliant-cut diamonds, totalling 0.85 carats.
The crown follows the floral symbolism of the watch. Manufactured in the same material as the case (steel, respectively pink gold), the crown is engraved with the GP logo.
The case construction makes the watch not only beautiful but also comfortable.
The watches are fitted with a folding clasp. The system appears to be very solid against accidental openings. The buckle is decorated with the GP logo.
Plum Blossom – A precious dial
The stainless steel version is decorated with a delicate white of mother-of-pearl dial.
The pink gold version is decorated with aventurine. 
The dial lacks indexes. But this is not a real issue since the legibility is good. The leaf-type hours and minutes hands fit perfectly the floral theme.
The small seconds’ indication is served by hand-painted mother-of-pearl hand shaped like a plum blossom. The detail is absolutely delightful.
GP03300 and blossom rotors
Girard Perregaux Cat’s Eye Plum Blossom is powered by the automatic movement GP03300-0149/0150.
The movement is nicely decorated in the GP style: Geneva stripes, perlage, blued screws, skeletonised rotor. The rotor is personalised further: in gold for the pink gold aventurine, in steel for the stainless steel mother-of-pearl.
The calibre 3300 offers 46 hours of power reserve from a single barrel design. The movement comprises 208 components, from which 28 are jewels. The calibre is regulated by a 4Hz balance wheel. 
Girard Perregaux Cat’s Eye Plum Blossom
These ladies watch proposal from Girard-Perregaux are, in my eyes, understated pieces. The watches are made with the haute-horlogerie rigours. The amount of work needed to manufacture them exceeds the normal time dedicated to classic men watches. Of course, this is reflected in the price. But still, one must recognise the amount of care and details that Girard-Perregaux invested. The small seconds’ detail is delightful. I can only wonder why the men are so stiffed to the idea of a needle hand and don’t go wild on this.
The watches are beautiful. As a collector, I can say that the Cat’s Eye Plum Blossom is a nice addition to any collection. But only a lady can have the final word.
