Reading Time: 3 minutes

With its new olive-green dial, the Mido Commander Icône plays the ultra-trendy chameleon card, adapting to any look. This iconic Mido model, designed in 1959 and unchanged ever since, is able to reinvent itself and remain out of the ordinary. Today, its dial stands out with a new warm olive green shade. This dynamic look is perfectly complemented by its integrated satin-finished steel case and strap, a first in this collection. As beautiful inside as on the outside, the Commander Icône is equipped with the Caliber 80, a finely decorated, COSC-certified, high-precision movement with an autonomy of up to 80 hours and a silicon balance-spring.

The architecture behind the style

The instantly recognisable lines of the Mido Commander collection pay tribute to the inimitable silhouette of the Eiffel Tower. With a satin-finished case highlighted by a slender bezel, its round shape echoes the arches of the monument, while the rectangular indexes and hands complete with polished metal bars, recall the tower’s iron lattice. These timeless aesthetics have stood the test of time for over six decades, as Mido has produced the collection continuously since 1959. Just like the famous Parisian tower, the Commander is a true icon: a symbol of Swiss watchmaking tradition and know-how.

All styles are in olive green

The new colour of the Commander Icône draws the eye with plenty of class, a perfect chameleon for any occasion. This shade with its shimmering reflections is presented in a robust satin-finished steel case with a diameter of 42 mm, extended by an integrated metal strap for unparalleled comfort. The faceted and domed sapphire crystal protects this understated and modern display, which is punctuated by polished applied indexes and flat diamond-cut hour, minute and seconds hands. The white Super-LumiNova® coating applied to the indexes offers perfect legibility both day and night. The day and date display at 3 o’clock completes this refreshing dial.

Accurate to the tip of its hands

At the heart of this surprising Commander Icône with its chrome aesthetic beats a high-precision movement: the Caliber 80, with a comfortable power reserve of up to 80 hours and a silicon balance-spring for precision and reliability. This finely decorated COSC-certified chronometer, with blued screws and an oscillating weight decorated with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo, offers hours, minutes, seconds, date and day functions on the dial side. On the reverse, it can be admired through the screwed sapphire crystal case back, which is water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 m / 165 ft).
